Baby Kade from Wyrd Miniatures

I\'ve painted one of the first releases from Wyrd Miniatures, Baby Kade. It\'s a lovely little sculpt by Edgar Ramos (Ergman) that stands about 1,5 cm tall. It\'s the smallest mini I\'ve painted, I think. It was a lot of fun.

Heh, I dare anyone to guess what I voted.

:p

Was extremely pleased with the results that Anders was able to achieve with Baby Kade. My wife came up the the concept of him and was just tickled when she saw the results. She\'s made me make it into the desktop wallpaper.

Bit scary she is ...

Is that bear bleeding...poor bear,
creepy this one, the baby freaks me out, hes scary and everything but how scary will he be when he needs his nappy changing:D

Great flesh tones on the baby inparticular and the material/fur/skin of the bear is perfect too. good job.

Congrats Anders...That is a wonderfully scary mini.

The base work is most impressive...I really like it.

The underpainting techinique is one that I\'ve seen on large scale models (ex. 1/6) but you have made it incredibly effective on such a small mini.

I don\'t know how its possible, but with each submission you seem to raise the bar each time.

The underpainting techinique
I\'m probably not getting this one because of the language barrier, but could somebody please explain to me what this is about? Thanks, in advance :).

Man thats just twisted..I really like it.

As for underpainting..my best guess is you paint something you want to show through like the veins in this case and then thinly glase over them making them look transparent like.

Thanks everyone! :D I\'m really pleased that most seem to like this evil little sod! Both for my own purely egoistical sake, but also for Nathan who has put a lot of effort into realising this new miniature line.

I started by painting the skin in a pinkish grey and shading it with a dark red. I then painted the veins with a purplish blue. After that i applied several layers of translucent pale flesh. I gave the whole skin a wash with light blue, followed by more layers of pale flesh and finally some further highlights with VMC Light Flesh.

Anders, sounds like we\'re doing skin a lot alike now. Shading with red and blue in varrying ratios to get different skintones.
