I would appreciate comments especially about his cloak. I am not all that great so don\'t think I am trying to pimp my miniature... I am just trying to learn. Sorry to have to stoop to begging but after posting like 9 miniatures I have only 1 comment...

It\'s good to let us know that you need feedback, and you know live is a learning process. So it never hurt to ask.

Cheers

looks nice.

I think the mini has a very nice \'realistic\' look to it.

The blending and highlighting are very subtle and it just adds to the realism.

I can see the case being made for even more highlighting on the cloak.

Still, I think it is mighty fine work. Keep \'em coming.

Definitely, the strongest point is your color selection. Technically speaking, you have done a very good job with your shading and highlighting on the cloth parts, although the face needs a bit more definition (i.e. shadows a bit more deep, and highlights a bit more brighter), but it is indeed a very nicely done mini.

BTW, it is best when you take the pics the way you did, AFTER the dull coat.

Errex, that IS after the dullcote :( I oversprayed near the top and the mantle really shows that. Is it possible for me to spray another coat with the matte to flatten it out again? Or will that make matters worse?

As for the face... well that is representative of my timidity to go back in and add shadow for fear of botching the face up. I am gaining confidence though, but I felt that I would leave well enough alone this time.

Thank you all for your comments. Many people have pointed out areas that I need to focus on. I think maybe a good habit to get into is to paint and then leave the mini alone for a day or so and come back to it with fresh eyes.

Most of the points that I was gonna point out were already mentioned, so no need repeating them. I did, however, leave comments on a couple of your other minis.

Have fun!

Ever read the comic book \"Bone\"??
Your guy reminds me of the wandering warriors I think they were called \"grass eaters.\"

No, but I will go check it out :)

*edit*

Ok now looking at a cover of one issue I recognize the character, but I can\'t say that I ever read it enough to know these grass eaters.

I like this alot. I recently painted up one myself for a guy in my friends gaming group who was using it as a theif. I\'ll post links at the end if you want to see it. Mine was much more monochromatic.

I really like the colors you used on this model. The leather on the leggings is great. Same with the belt.

The highlighting on the red is fantastic.

I\'m torn between the grey on the cloak. At first glace it looked like a really nice stone finish. :) Or a heavy wool cloak. The blending is very good, and it looks really good on the cloak. The pouch looks a bit like stone though.

The blade needs some different highlighting. It needs to be a bit more exreme to give it a decent metallic look. I ran into that problem too.
