Back on the painting wagon, advice is greatly appreciated!

Here\'s the start of my newest model. I recently found my new version of the Dark Angels codex and became absorbed with the storyline and artistry in the book.

Here\'s the start of it.

I\'m looking to add binding washes to the cape and the armor. He\'s going to be standing in a ruined heap of a building at the end so I\'ll make use of appropriate Mig Pigments.

Any advice? Comments? I\'m a bit hesitant to use binding washes again.

as relictant you might be using washes I think that\'s just what you need - as I see it the armour needs to be a lot darker. Cape looks good.

Thanks for that. I thought the same thing as well. *Deep breath* I\'ll try my hand out on a few gradual dark green binding washes. I intentionally made the highlights bright because they will be dulled up a bit when the binding washes come in.

My only question comes if I should use a medium for the wash or just continue to use water. I am a little hesitant to see how much water it will take to create an effective wash.

never used a medium my self so can\'t help you there, but in anyway it\'s better to dilude too much than too little and the just add more coats

I did my glazes today and they came out very nice. I\'m having a lot of fun.

I basically took a dark green with a hint of black and watered it into a glaze. I made sure not to drown the mini, but to make sure a good even coat went onto the armor. It looks much better now; much more gradual. As for the red portions, I also did the same for the loin cloth but with a deep red with a hint of black.

I\'m loving this. Last year I was having trouble with all of this, but I\'m learning that it\'s all about PATIENCE!

Looks good on the red the green is a little difficult to see in the pic.
