Fantastic work on that 28mm head, sometime I should try out some 54 mm instead. As always nice too see your progress on things.

Well, I do have a little giveaway thread going in the general discussion forum that has a 54mm lady up for grabs ;)

If only I looked like a celeb... then I'd see if I could grab one of those vampire ladies!

Thanks, Kharnath. I put two other tutorials up on WAMP:

http://www.wampforum.com/VB4/content.php?r=3624-Freehand-Painting-Step-by-Step
I also did this pseudo-tutorial. At some point I was going to turn it into a full one but for now it's just a really long post on painting white.

Update on the armor. I'm pretty happy with the black so far. I might push the highlights a bit brighter though.

Celeb is a very loose definition. Hell you could even find a mini you look like and enter :) That armour is so subtle BTW. I can see greens and purples and browns! How the hell did you get all that to show in black?!

Hmmm... I'll see if I can come up with something.

Thanks! I've struggled with black. This time I wanted to try a blue-black. I actually took a bit of inspiration from the fluff. The regular Sons of Horus color scheme is a sea-green or verdigris green-black scheme (though the justaerin terminators are just black). So opted for a teal as my blue substitute. At maybe 3 parts black to 1 part teal I started to mix in a skin shade for the highlights. Seems like some odd colors to use but somehow they work. Of course no where am I using pure teal or pure skin, there's still a good deal of black or black/teal mixed in.

OWw interesting, might have to find something to paint black. A Chaplain I think. Thanks for all the Wampler links good reading.

Ha! Without knowing they were authored by you, I have already read-and learned a lot from-your other tutorials. Good stuff there!

And please, skip the formalities. Call me BloodFather. Or Dad.

I do not know what kind of magic photoshooting you use Bailey, but i swear every time i pull this guy up it looks like a fully rendered cgi painting. Very cool i must say.

And since you seem to have white and black whooped, hows about showing us how to make large areas of yellow look easy? Lol ;)

Thanks, Krule! Ha, oddly enough not a lot of historical figures call for too much yellow. Though I have been tempted to paint some Imperial Fists.

So I thought I'd try something a little different and setup my own mini painting blog. Don't worry, it's definitely not going to replace this thread. I don't think you get the same sort of back and forth conversation going in the comment section of a blog. But the general idea is to have a place where you can easily find all my stuff, tutorials, finished figures, paint mixes, etc. Since I post on a couple forums sometimes details end up on one site and not the others. Plus combing through however many pages of WIP thread to find one little post can be a pain.

Any project updates I post over there will most likely also get posted on this thread too. But you can still check in from time to time for other useful info. I've already got four tutorials up on the site, the gallery section is done, and I'm working on a list of useful links. I'm open to suggestions so if there's any content you think I should add, let me know!

Cool! I'll add you to my reading list and blog roll. I use my blog in a similar way. It's weeks behind my WIP thread here, but it also goes into WAAAAY more detail and has many SBS type posts. I find the blogging community is very heavyily influenced by gaming and lots of 40k. I always take a hit in views with stuff not 40k related, but it's the stuff i have the most fun with these days.

I'm a bit of a novice at this whole blog stuff (makes me feel old). I've found the place where I can add a subscribe button on the main page (now at the top right). Somehow Zab managed to follow me without that button but I have no idea how he did it.

On the left hand side in blogger is a reading list tab. If you click add it will prompt you to add a website you would like to follow in your reading list...
