Have a look at Bazuka, the elite champion

..and the painter\'s description of how he did the bamboo:

Thanks for voting and the comments. The bamboos were made from plastic rods which I cut up and glued back together. Its more realistic looking than just painting a ring. The leaves were carved out of paper and glued to a fishing thread which in turn was glued to the plastic rod. A real pain in the @ss to do really.

Right, that\'s very similiar to how I intended to do it. Except I\'m currently working on a smaller scale miniature than the Rackham minis (about 10 or 15 mm and not 30), so everything has to be smaller. That\'s why I can\'t use paper for the leaves, would be difficult to cut out thousands of them. But I\'ve found a nice spice that looks good together with some clump foliage.

Oh well, I just hope everything works...

Thanks for the reply.

Nice idea, too, but I doubt my sculpting skills are good enough to achieve a realistic look. Moreover, the whole construction would be fairly heavy, besides from the large amount of green stuff I\'d need.

An idea?....

Use some hay or straw and paint it green?

I haven\'t tried it, but it could have the right size and texture to use as bamboo.

Just a thought...:)

Allright, I\'ve got lots of bamboo sticks now, they look okay, though not very professional. But these leaves are killing me! The clump foliage\'n\'spice thing hasn\'t worked. It looked like an odd tree.
Perhaps I\'ll really have to use paper and cut out every single leaf...

Check out the mini I did a while back #96165. It might be what you are looking for. I used dried weeds and painted them with watered down green paint. I recommend using a varnish first or the paint can make them soggy.

Hi wrestlerguy, thanks for your reply. But at the moment I\'m trying to get some nice leaves (I\'m actually thinking the whole bamboo stuff wouldn\'t look too bad without\'em) as I\'ve already made the stems.
