I need some help in making a banner of sorts for my Tau standard bearer, and i havent found any threads so far (though i havent looked through every single page) I want it too look somewhat real(flapping in the wind, etc...) I know i can make one out of GS but i dont have the cash, nor the skills to make one. So any help would be great.

Cheap ones can be made out of just a heavier stock of paper or a peice of regular paper folded and pasted togehter. I good thing to remember, though, it to paint beyond the banner, or you\'ll have all sorts of fun trying to match it up exactly. Foil and even aluminium can can be used, but watch those edges!

You can also make putty banners by draping a sheet of putty over some pencils and then trimming to the right shape afterwards.

that outlines the basic idea for putty banners really well. it\'s not too difficult to midify this to make more complexbanners although these are harder to paint ( i avoid these coz i suck at freehand!). i tend to use the foil from my parents discarded wine bottles (not being a wine drinker myself)

Mylar banners

Has anyone tried mylar for banners? It doesn\'t take a curve well, but it\'s thin, flexible and strong - it seems ideal for the non-wavy banners you often see on dreadnoughts, or for long thin banners that knights or LOTR elves carry.

you can just use plain paper, dip it in some glue+water and let it dry in the shape you want. That should give you an easy do to banner :D
