lol i love these parts:

\"If you are a great painter, the Citadel Masters Paintbrush Set will help to make you one of the best.\"

and

\"make the difference between winning a gold trophy at Golden Demon or a silver one\"

i think i\'ll wait for the £200 set, because \"it will make the difference between winning a gold trophy at Golden Demon or a slayer sword\"

gw is hilarious
or rather, ridiculous

Oh, wait... I get it, now....

With these brushes, I can buy my paints at Home Hardware, by the gallon, not thin it at all, leave the flare and flash on my minis, and still win a Golden Demon....

I\'m buying 3 sets, then. It\'s the tools.

The term RIP OFF comes to mind!

I think that there might be a few comments passed tomorrow.
(and I doubt that they\'ll be complimentary.)

YAAAWWNNN, wow another gw bashing thread, yes the brushes r overpriced, who cares ur not going to buy them. a lot of the hobby stuff is sub par and overpriced, but frankly what does it matter, anyone who bothers to shop around is going to find a better deal, if they cant be arsed to do a bit of research, more fool the purchaser.
any excuse to take pitiful swipes at gw i guess. doesent stop some of you painting and selling there minis i notice though, thus at some level promoting their product, this most evil group of people on the planet (sigh).

and

I\'d prefer to see it less as GW bashing, and more as poking fun at spastics

is a kinda insensitive comment i think, and im no great fan of PC, but this seems kinda OTT.

Marketing maxim: \'sell the sizzle not the steak\'.

I bought my brushes for 3$ each. They work just fine. It\'s not so much having some whizzo tool. It\'s more what you learn to do with what you got. I have never really gotten the big deal with expensive brushes. As long as they hold the shape I want. It\'s a bundle of hair to transfer paint from here to there. I have seen some single brushes for 30-50$. Sorry...........It\'s like wine. Spending alot dosent guarentee anything.

Most of my brushes are $3.00. And they suck, can\'t keep a point for nothing. Still I would not pay more than $7.00 for a brush.

Bash & drink, bash & drink, bash & drink. Thats what we like to do around here. :D

@Calabdark: You don\'t like, don\'t read!

As for painting THEIR minis - well duh! If someone\'s paying, then damn right I\'ll do it! It aint my money going into their coffers and it rather ironically funds purchases from other manufacturers:D

:duh:

Its a grand idea!

Now, when some kid comes to the GW store for advice on painting, the GW instructor will NOT help the kid unless he is using chapter approved brushes.

And if the kid has a snotty nose and a dirty butt, have him use the the same grade toilet tissue the folks over at \'Eavy Metal do. Its the difference between a skid marked pair of undies and a royal reaming!!

OK, I\'ll say it! I like some of GW\'s stuff a lot.
(duck\'s head to dodge flying miniatures)

But just be cause I like their minis and want to paint them, doesn\'t mean that I have to condone them saying that owning something they make is going to automatically make me a better painter. Personally, I find it offensive.

Practice, patience, hard work, and being able to learn from others is what makes you better.

The idea that owning this set of brushes would make my silver a gold is asinine and an affront to the painter that did get the gold. He didn\'t have any of these. He was just a better painter.

I like GW, they are a solid business with a good product and are doing exactly what they are supposed to, making money for their shareholders.

I just wish someone would help them get their foot out of their mouth and teach them how to control their ego.

Amen Terry. Implying that overpriced brushes make the better painter is plain... cheeky.

I dunno how things stand now, but there was a time, where the folks in a GW store wouldn\'t let you paint in the store if you used other than GW stuff (paints, brushes, even glue!)... to quote Spacemunkie: \"Tossers\".

Sounds like you got the best of both worlds. You get to paint their minis, but not pay for them. Got to like that. And to top it off you get to buy better, less expensive mini\'s. :D

@Pitynoman: They haven\'t arrived yet, but I\'m sure they\'ll be here in the next few days. Usually takes up to two weeks for stuff to get here from the US.

This may interest you too Vlad:

1999 resource

Got some good (if small) galleries of rare and unreleased stuff. The Gryph Empyrean thing looks fantastic.

CELL had what apeared to be a great game on hand, RONIN. It is unfortunate they went belly up. It would be nice to see somebody pick up the rights to the game and re-release it.

I think both of my LGS\'s have stock of the Ronin game left.

I\'ve been looking for some of those Ronin figs. There are some excellent ones in the range that got released.

It\'s about time someone knocked out some proper anime styled Landmate style suits at 28mm. Hopefully Rackham are taking this on:

Scott,

I assume you use W&N series 7?

If so, where in Yorkshire are you getting them?
I\'ve had no joy sourcing any and would prefer to buy them in person than on-line so as to check points etc.

Maybe I\'ll have to go for the exclusive GW set instead :D
