Basing ideas

Hello all,

I need some help regarding the base for my latest project; the limited edition Inquisitor Gideon Lorr.

One look at my posted miniatures will tell you that when it comes to bases I\'m not particularly adventurous but with this miniature I want to do something different.

Does anyone have any thoughts about how I might go about this one? Here\'s a picture of the model in its current state so you can get an idea for the paint scheme; though I feel I should say that it isn\'t finished.

Any advice that you can send my way would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the ones I\'ve seen done of this guy have him on a rocky outcrop (yawn)

So you could do several thin layers of broken cork...

Or you could do him at a slight angle, coming off the boarding ramp off a thunderhawk? Something like that.

Thanks, Dan. I don\'t know what it was in your post that gave me the idea but soon after reading it I hit upon the idea of him standing in front of a door blown open.

The pointing hand could make it look like he\'s tracked down a bunch of heretics and is making a profound declaration like \"I am the law!\".

Oh no wait that\'s not right...

You could do his plasma hand sort of holding the door open - the hinges almost busted, splintered lock etc etc

Maybe he should be pointing at an empty glass on a bar, and telling the waitress to fill it up.

Or perhaps, he\'s pointing at a boquet of flowers and he\'s holding his wallet in the other hand, because he\'s picking something out for his sweety.

How about replacing the plasma gun with a ring box, and put that chick inquisitor on the other end of the base, with a caption like \"will YOU marry me?!\"

Ooh, maybe there should be two guardsmen. Replace the plasma hand with him just sticking his thumb out. One of the guardsmen is a catcher, and the other is a runner. They\'re playing baseball and the Inquisitor is telling the runner he\'s out.

Or how about he\'s pointing at the teddy bear he wants because he is at a carnival and he just shot three cans off a table with his plasma gun.

Replace the plasma gun with a baseball bat and have him pointing for the fence.

Or replace it with a golf club, and have him dropping the ball on the green.

Urban bases always look interesting. You could add some bricks and barbed wire.
