Thanks for the concern. Right now, I am at work (a triple wide trailer) where we are backing up computers and taking the hard drives out so we can take them home. If one of the 3 survive, we are OK.
Friday will be spent putting plywood over the double glass doors at my house.
Charlie was 20 miles wide hurricane force. This one is 70-80 miles out from the center (thats 150 miles across) for hurricane force winds... And it is moving much slower so you get pounded longer. (fun fun).
But still better than the tornados that I grew up with in the midwest.
As to better houses: Most stuff here is concrete block with roff trusses. Does pretty good. The retired folk like to live in \"manufactured\" houses. (that\'s trailers bolted to a foundation = crap) because they are cheap.
Don\'t fill all the trash cans full of water. Save one to put your photo albums/hard drives/important papers in then duct tape them up.
Got a swimming pool, so water to flush the loo with is not a problem. Currently, it is cleaner than city water, but after the storm... (shrug).
