Batten down the hatches, here we go again...

There is no telling yet where Ivan is going
People here are so scared now they are boarding up with particle board. Particle board tends to disintegrate with water contact but it is all that is left around here.
The state rationed gas yesterday and only sold premium gas (go figure) cause on Francis the stations ran out and people were stranded.
Kids are out of school Monday this is the happy point today. We shall game tonight till the cows come home cause we are prepared down to the dry ice required.
I am thinking Becca\'s picture will change again soon cause of the camera we received. Takes great pictures . Thanks to Airhead for the fine advice we now have a Nikon cool pic. I just have quite the learning curve.

TAB, a weekend with no power is a good time to set down with the manual. Get the CP-5000? 3 user settings - I left the third one for video, 2nd for mins, primary of \"normal\" pictures.

Find the macro mode settings and the shutter speed settings, white balance (still working on that one as there is no \"halogen and flourescent\" setting).

Looks like we may actually get in a full week of work and school here. What a change. We are getting used to 4 day weekends scrambling around for plywood and gas.

The Govenor said that they are NOT rationing gas.

Like Tab, Ipaintminis and Airhead, my storm supplies have been replenished, so I\'m about as ready as I\'m going to be. I\'ve still got most my storm supplies from Francis.

Well, I don\'t have dry ice in my freezer and I\'m not sure where to get any, but besides that I\'m about as ready as I can be. I gassed up last night; will probably top off the tank later today.

I got one of those LED headlight things. I spent a lot of time during Francis making terrain of all things. Hey, a foam cutter is battery operated, so that worked fine. Just kind of funky trying to paint and flock by candle/lantern light.

Looks this morning like it is going to visit our panhandle friends. All in GA, MS, AL & possibly LA, look out. Ivan is big, mean and a known killer.

The poor people in Jamaca were afraid to leave their homes and go to a shelter. The crime is so bad there, that if they left, their homes would be looted while they were gone.

A good place to check up on these things is:

Checking in. Lost power yesterday (Sunday) afternoon. Stayed \"hunkered down\" all day. Curfew in effect.

This morning, the storm is gone. Got out today. Stores open, no power at my office so I got a free day off. Spent today looking at inverters (takes car power to 110v ac.) to plug in my fridge. Choice of plugging in the fridge and saving the groceries or plugging in the tv to see what was happening. Watched TV for about 10 minutes. bluch, no wonder I work - I couldn\'t stand to have to stay home with daytime TV.

Power back on this eveinging about 7:00. Had just served dinner (cooked on the gas grill). Air conditioning is a wonderful thing in FL.

i can see that...

im just glad i have power.
