Battle Damage (Not that kind!)

Having found my xcto knife where I had accidently left it in a coffee can full of brushes by artfully inserting it into my flesh, causing it to stick, I thought I\'d ask you all what your best (or worst) battle damage stories were? Ever had a mini get the best of you? I remember when I was painting with testor enamels waaaay back in the day, and some dried paint had sealed the jar shut. When I went to twist it off, the hardened paint was actually sharp enough to cut my hands as I was trying to twist the top. So lets here your best!

Nothing tragic here... Though I was witness to my buddy shoving an exacto into his thumb while flashing a miniature. Loooots of blood.

I cut a 2 mm thick and about 1 cm wide slice clean off the tip of one of my fingers while removing plastic parts from a sprue once. How I bled... :~(

i was drilling through my centurions spear tip and had it held between my finger and thumb whilst i drilled it out the drill then stuck and the spear cleanly sliced through both my finger and thumb.i remember kneeling down in pain trying to stop the bleeding

ive had some nasty hobby knife cuts. a few months ago i had to have my friends with first aide training come buy to help me because i had cut the knuckles on my ring and pinkey fingers badly. they were small cuts but very deep - and my pinkey still has problems...poor little guy....
at the time i was cutting a wotc mini from those crappy bases they come on. D&D made me do it!

I would have to say the time I broke my exacto-knife biaccident and ended up have the broken off piece sticking in my flesh, but not bleeding.

Knife in the foot and thumb. Glued my fingers together (stupid boy) and inhaled far too much polystyrene fumes ( when burnt to produce scenery). Also Perhaps the funniest thing is that Im allergic to most metals. So the paint brushes and the minis themselves cause my hand to itch and burn. I really do suffer for my art!

Lets see -

Super glued the head from a 1/35 scale Russian Tank Crewman to my hand.

Way to many cuts from xacto, sprue and other things to count.

Cut the tip off a finger with a Dremel once - that was painful.

I used to use a pin instead of a pin vise thingy - if you stick it in hard enough, it does essentially the same thing - until i stuck it 1cm into my thumb and two of my fingers in the same day...
then, when i got a drill, i stuck that 1cm deep into my thumb...
i\'ve never sliced anything off though

I was cleaning up my work space and threw some used craft blades into a rubbish bag on the floor. Later I forgot about the contents of said bag and kicked it out of the way. I was a bit surprised by the sharp pain in my foot and unfortunately pushed it further in with my jerking leg. BIG pools of blood on the floor (but I was laughing at myself as well).

Sliced myself with a sculpting tool, that put me out of painting action for days! I sometimes get dizzy if I leave the lid of my superglue off, I have inhaled snow scatter and sprue filings :~( often the dust left by filing plastic gets ingrained into my skin, or if I have a peely finger it gets under and I am in discomfort for a long time... nothing too serious for me though :p

Aside from inhaleing a lot of crap like snow powder, flock and fine sand i have cut myself too many times to count with an exacto blade. I belive the worst i have done was trying to glue a dreadnought togeather and no matter what i did the parts would not stay togeather. Eight hours later i figureds the super glue had to be dry, went to move it and the whole thing fell apart with the glue still wet before instantly drying to my hands, fingers, shorts and leg.

After showing my 10 year old son how NOT to use an Exacto knife, I promptly sliced my forefinger lengthwise from the tip of the finger and 2 cm down alongside the bone. I could see the scratch from the tip of the knife on the inside of the fingernail. Hurt like the blazes and bled lots too!

Fortunately, my son sdidn\'t see it happen. The cut was also so clean it healed up without a scar.:D
