We work for made up briefs in the first year, then in the second year do live briefs for The Guardian, local papers like the Chronicle (in Newcastle) and take trips to america and work with Time magazine.
At the end of the 2 year we get put into work placements for a month and 90% of students get taken on full time.
Ideally i would like to work for an Apple Mac mag or White Dwarf!!

Ah, the naivity of youth. As a former Journalism student I have to agree with Torn blue sky. There will be very little Photoshop polishing, but plenty of polishing off of frothy beers unless things have drastically changed in the last four or so years. Both the students and lecturers on my (supprisingly well regarded) degree course were extremely adept at liver destruction!

Have fun. Oh, and where is the course at?

EDIT - Forget that question. The info about the Newcastle Chronicle being the local paper is probably a clue!

Congratulatioms. Newcastle is a great city.
Full of good pubs and, so I\'m told, educational establishments. ;)

Yes, and people from Byker Grove
Hey, dragonsreach, were you in it once?
*Drums fingers trying to think of reply which does not involve swearing*

No Mick, I was not in Byker Grove the TV series but I have been in Byker Grove.

The Byker Grove TV series is responsible for two of the worst atrocities to have been inflicted on the British public. Ant & Dec.
And on behalf of all Geordies may I apologise most profoundly.
