Before/After - Commissioned FW Hellhound

I\'m just about finished with the fourth tank in the armoured company commission I\'ve been working on. These tanks are coming to me one or two at a time and have been a real pleasure to re-paint. The last painter just butchered these poor pieces.

On all of these models I\'ve been commissioned to paint \"gaming standard\" -- so no highlighting or fluffy details -- but I just couldn\'t do that to this model. I expect to have a very surprised client when he checks his email today to get an update image.

This model was a real pleasure to paint and I hope to have an opportunity to really make one pop some day.

Feedback *always* welcome of course.

I\'m sure he\'s going to be happy with that - it\'s a massive improvement on the original and I agree that it would have been a shame to not up the level of painting a bit. Tabletop is fine but that little bit extra does make a big difference. I especially like the [WH40k ignorance]\"plough\"[/WH40k ignorance] bit at the front.

Oh yeah, I voted ;)

Hi, been and voted, like the dozer blade/plough on this crop duster, oops tank, The metallics on the fuel tanks on the back look good, and some nice little details like the pressure gauge etc.
Only bit I don\'t like is the two tone turret. but good job

Thanks for the feedback.

The white turret is by customer request. All of his tanks now have white turrets -- which means my Russ before/after needs to be updated. Oops.

I did the big fuel tank with a blue tint -- when I did metal in college I remember the tanks would get cold and, over time, tint blue. I tried to capture that look.

not too bad

I like the tank\'s color scheme. not too bad looking and if its for a customer, do it like they request..but litle additions are always a good thing to throw in for sure.

Looking good, and I bet your customer will be happy (unless of course you invoice him for the next level prices of course!)

I agree the FW Hellhounds are really nice, I bet you \'almost\' feel like paying him to let you really go to town on it!

Almost ;)

What he got, instead, was a paint job that was certainly more than he was paying for. Fortunately this is a *great* client; his last \"tip\" for extras was an 18\" cube of space marine bits -- including a a ton of terminator and command pieces. I don\'t sweat going a little over.

Thanks for the feedback, folks. Any suggestions for the next one?

I keep talking about the changes made to the armored company that the Hellhound is part of -- here is the updated pic with the white turrets on the Leman Russ. Should better show the unified theme.
