Before/After - Leman Russ Commission

My first commission in a decade and I was very happy that I managed to get a chance to redo the work that this client had previously paid for. The entire job was pretty sad - check it out:

This is the first of two Leman Russ I was sent. This is my \"minimum standard\" or \"tabletop quality\" paintjob. Unfortunately because the model had been previously glued and painted I couldn\'t do much about the seams -- but did drill out all of the gun barrels. The comms had been broken in transit and were replaced with wire antenna.

I have some shiny new ideas for making comms from wire now as well that I am going to try on the second Russ. I am glad I have more than one of these to paint - they\'re a real treat.

The tank looks great, I love all the extras, youve put on, and the gun barrel looks fantastic. The only bit is the seams on the petrol barrels, if you filled them it would really look superb. P.S. just finish assembling a Leman Russ myself, and I think there a great model, most enjoyable, :D

You\'ll have to give props to the client on all of the extras. His vehicles are COVERED in little bits and pieces -- I love it.

Because I was doing this \"tabletop quality,\" and the model came to me glued, I didn\'t go back and do much about the seams. I did clean up the cannons and HBs though. It\'s one thing to have a shoddy looking barrel in the middle of a battlefield -- but your big guns should be shiny.
