Before and After

I painted this mini in early 2003, and I\'ve repainted it in Feb. of 2005.

I can\'t get over how chunky and grainy that old paint job is, and now I\'ve discovered NMM, and it\'s easier for me to blend colors. It was interesting to see a comparison.
That shows what 2 years, and a lot of practice (way too much practice) can do. :D

Hey the before one is pretty good too !! you\'re suposed to show us some very ugly mini that looks like it has been diped in a paint pot so we don\'t get depressed thinking you had skills to start with :p
Seriously though really nice improvment, hope two years\'ll do that to my painting. And nice skin tone, and yet another painter who masters purple  (I\'ll get it right someday !!!)

Great....

.....I can\'t wait to do one of these myself,Frenchkid won\'t feel so bad then :D My first mini\'s (aged 8) were somewhere behind the level of your first pic,my current ones are somewhere in between the level of both pics lol It\'s only since I was about 19 I\'ve tried to improve, people who start painting more recently seem to learn quicker, you noticed that? I like both pieces, the gold weapon in the first pic is cool, and the second one is banging, the skin has a lot of vitality! Nice one for sharing ;)

Yes I definetly agree people seem to improve faster. I think the sheer amount of articles and personal websites, and sites sute has CMON help tremendously. Not to mention conventions and such were people get to exchange ideas and tips. I think that\'s definetly enougth to justify the faster rate of improvment for some people today. Especially for people who already have an \'artistic\' sens and are just lacking the technique ( Eric for exemple :p).

I agree,my aspirations if not my painting ability have skyrocketed since finding the net! lol I love these submissions that show clear improvement,I also love the ones people post of their little un\'s efforts like Ansquer\'s and Solaria2k\'s daughters pics.Imagine how great that generation is going to paint, especially when they start as young as two (Ansquer\'s daughter Siobane for example! :D ) They\'ll put us oldies in the shade lol

Both me and Jim have learned a great deal by reading articles on CMON. We wouldn\'t have tried NMM, and Jim wouldn\'t have fallen in love with SENMM. ;)
In fact, I would like to thank all the people who post articles for sharing their new techniques with us.

I do always love posts like these, pushing yourself to improve and then seeing the results is the best. I bet we\'ll see another big jump in just the next 6 months, I don\'t want to wait another 2 years to see :D

Nice work Cathy.
