The problems there are going from bad to worse.
I heard about this on the way to work. I am really getting disgusted with humanity.
I recall reading an old sci-fi book by Philip Jose Farmer called \"Dayworld\". The idea is that due to overpopulation, only 1/7th of the world\'s population is actually out and about any one day - the rest are in stasis.
Based on today\'s events, that may be one of the only viable solutions to deal with humanity\'s hatred of one another. We just have to keep all the various factions isolated from one another.

That just nonsense. 95% of the population are simply people going about normal lives. They may not be perfect lives but they are trying to do the best for themselves and the people they care about.
The fact that acts like this disgust so many people shows that it is an aberration not a norm.
If you want to curl into a ball and give up then feel free but don\'t condemn an entire species because of your lack of fortitude.
Well, I appear to have touched a nerve! Of course isolating everyone from one another is not a viable solution on a global scale. I will point out that it has been practiced on smaller scales for time immemorial. A few examples: Indian reservations in the Americas, Prison colonies in Australia, leper colonies, every prison everywhere.
Even if the individuals that perpetrate these acts are in a minority, shouldn\'t their actions be decried? Do you let rabid dogs roam the neighborhood, or do you deal with them?
Aberrant behavior or not, these types of actions are much too commonplace. Something about the global community/humanity/whatever you want to call it needs fixing, because it appears to me that these are not freak occurences but regular headlines.
My fortitude is fine, though I appreciate your concern. I deal with suffering on a daily basis and keep plugging along without adopting the fetal position.

:beer:I\'ve always believed that in order to solve 90% of the problems in the world, do away with all forms of currency and wealth. Really weird idea, I know, but almost everything in life seems to revolve around the pursuit of money.
Wars are started because of it, people kill, cheat and lie for it - no matter who gets hurt in the process, people die because they don\'t have any and can\'t get access to food, shelter or basic health care.

if there was no money there would still be people who just get angry because your in their \"space\" prisons are full of people like these.
then there is the \"R\" thing. killing people to get favours from gods sounds liek a good way to get something later when you have nothing now.

It\'s a great shame on a personal level for her friends and relatives of course. For Pakistan it remains to be seen what happens. Much depends from what I\'ve heard if they will hold the elections or not.
People in general I think want a good life.. and well. We humans are actually remarkable good at cooperating and functioning socially. Controlling our urges and aggressions etc. It\'s just that when basic needs aren\'t met we won\'t conform.
