best looking...

Hey everyone, I have a \'luxuary\' (sp?) problem: I ca\'t choose which of the awesome Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mounths models I will chose.

You can see them here:

please vote/reply!

I voted Tzeench I really like the model and the mount is quite different. On saying that I do like the idea of Slaanesh after reading Fulgrim, just a thought if you or any one is planing anything Slannesh based :D

mounted nurgle lord for me :D

the slanesh one has the coolest bits for adding to other models but the nurgle one has more possibilites for imo.

I\'ve always preferred Tzeentch of the four chaos powers. Seems to have the widest scope as to what you can do with it, as he\'s the very essence of chaos and all that. The slaanesh model is good too so I think that would be 2nd.

Thanks for all your replies, looks like the Slaanesh/Tzeentch models are the most poplulair. However, I can see some problems:

Tzeentch Lord: It has the \'flying\' stick, doesn\'t this break off too easily?

The Slaanesh Lord: The tail comes in about 4/5, isn\'t this hard to assemble and to keep the pieces smooth?

Nurgle for me! With slannesh being 2nd

I love the Tzeench one too but the Khorne one really does nothing for me.

I don\'t know if you could call anything Nurgle \"best-looking\" But Any model with more than 2 boobs has to qualify, so Slaanesh for me.

I\'m quite stunned that no one voted for the Khorne one:eek: with Khorne being \'the most populair god\' and all.

I didn\'t deceide though...I will do that tomorrow morning when I go to my local shop.

While the Slaanesh and Tzeentch Lords are quite interesting models (although I don\'t think the Slaanesh Lord \"fits\" with his mount), the Nurgle one is great: Moody, versatile for gameplay in terms of equipment and such, and great fun to paint. Sure, you can\'t go on an all-colour rampage as the two others, but the structure and modelling are rewarding to paint. And I\'m with those who say the Khornate ain\'t anything special. Meh.

i painted the slaanesh once, and its ok, but you got allot of skin to deal with and its gotta look clean. Personaly id go with nurgle, its dark, creepy, and you can do just about anything you want to it, much more freedom, and its dark! oh how i love that dark models.... anyways, your choice in the end. Thats just me 2 cents

for what it\'s worth, i\'ve painted all four of the mounted lords, and the nurgle one was by far the most fun to do...check him out on the first page of the hordes of chaos section in the 2007 gw catalogue(shameless plug)...wish i had pics of the others, but they are all across the sea on display in the dutch gw stores...
khorne is my favorite god(blood for the blood god!!!), but i was really dissapointed that the horse is not leaping off the stone like on the box cover...if you assemble him straight outta the box, the horse looks like he\'s plowin\' a field...i had to convert him leapin\' off the stone from the tyrion box(dead elves are good elves...as i duck a hail of arrows)
the slannesh lord was a joy to paint(hurrah for boobies), but took the longest...as tagron said, there is a lot of skin to paint...
the tzeentch lord is wicked, especially the disk...makes the old discs look ridiculous...the only problem i have with this model is that it isn\'t as cool as the limited version...i know i\'m a snob...
so i would say nurgle for sure...it was the most fun for me to work on, and never seemed like a chore...

Well I was thinking, I want to do some else then my Pestigors ( see link in my signature ) but that damn Nurgle lord is so populair! I can\'t see Dark Angles green any more or I\'ll lose it:mad:

Lol, however, I might think I go with the Slaanesh or Tzeentch one, I paint \'clean\' so skin might not be a problem, but clothing isn\'t a problem either.

Pro\'s Slaanesh lord: Original mounth, colours I haven\'t painted for a while, banner on the back ( not that I\'m good in freehand, but I can always try...)

Con\'s: assembling the mounth, hard to paint?

Pro\'s Tzeentch lord: Lot\'s of bright colours, never painted flames before ( but that\'s also a con )

Con\'s: breaking flying standards, lot\'s of white

So please, if you have painted one of the 2 ( or both ) , can you tell me if my pro\'s/con\'s are true?

You can always use some magnets on the stand if you\'re afraid of the peg breaking.

Personally, I\'m in the process of converting some Reaper Bathalians to ride the Tzeentch discs as the demonic heralds for the legion I am ever so slowly putting together. And, yes, the LE discs are so much cooler, but I am not wasting them on tis project.

i did the slaanesh one for my local store a few years ago, and from what i can remember it was a pleasure to paint...also it just has a sense of style to it...the mount is easy enough to do..just make sure you clean the parts well, maybe even wash them in soapy water to get the \"fat\" off from touching the mini then just pin&glue it together...on a side note i\'ve seen a guy paint the mount with a skin\\cammo pattern like a anaconda or python would have...google for pics and then just use purples, pinks,or whatever might work for you...looks realy cool :) have fun!

@h.o.d- seems like you\'ve narrowed it down...now between the two, i would go for the slannesh lord...the discrider has nothin\' on the six-boobed snake!!!
the mount takes patience to assemble, but is really solid once it\'s together, and on the base...did i mention it\'s got six boobs!!!
the armour is cool, both on the mount and rider...the spear rocks too...the backbanner doesn\'t need any freehand...if ya paint it up in some nice silky reflective kinda sheen, that\'s cool enough...play with inks a little here...
that said, tryin\' new things is the only way to improve, so a subtle little slannesh symbol couldn\'t hurt...
i still say the nurgle lord is more fun, but that\'s just me...i didn\'t use much dark angels green on him(even though it is my favorite color)...for the horse\'s skin i used rotting flesh and chaos black mixed...made for a cool look...found a few horrible pics of him to inspire ya...
please to enjoy...
