if i had to pick a best movie ever, i suppose it would have to be the Fellowship of the ring, still amazes me to this day after seeing it sooo many times

Ladyhawke (old, with a VERY dated soundtrack, but excellent movie, stars Rutger Hauer, Michelle Pfiffer and Matthew Broderick)

Pitch Black (I first thought it was another basic monster movie, but had excellent, memorable characters)
