Best Movie Ever.

I haven\'t got a real favourite movie, but if I think about great movies these five come into my mind:

- Bin-Jip (very impressive and meditative)
- Run Lola Run (just style!)
- Magnolia
- Downfall (A shocking and important movie)
- American History X

There are lots more (perhaps \'Luther\' should\'ve been added to my list, too), but I think these are the most important ones.

And like Itchy I also love those action-packed Jet Li blockbusters.

Ladyhawke (old, with a VERY dated soundtrack, but excellent movie, stars Rutger Hauer, Michelle Pfiffer and Matthew Broderick)

Pitch Black (I first thought it was another basic monster movie, but had excellent, memorable characters)

:D

Lol, just bought these last week! :D

Highlander. (just love this one! Can watch it over and over!)
Lotr trilogy.
The Green Mile.
Labyrinth.
Gladiator.
Willow.
Star Gate.
The Prophecy1. (Christopher Walken rules!)
Sleepy Hollow.
Blues Brothers.

Hmm, better stop now...

I\'ve always had trouble putting together a ranked list, but here goes. There will be some that seem out of place, (the Tim Burton ones come to mind, but he\'s perfected the modern day fairy tale in my mind, and am I ever grateful for it). Also, its hard to rate comedies with dramas, but I\'ll try my best.

1 a. The Shawshank Redmption
1 b. Goodfellas
3. Silence of the Lambs
4. LOTR Fellowship of the Ring
5. Fight Club
6. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
7. Batman Begins
8. The Green Mile
9. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
10. LOTR The Two Towers
11. Being John Malkovich
12. Blazing Saddles
13. Almost Famous
14. Saving Private Ryan
15. Kill Bill vol 1
16. The Matrix
17. The Usual Suspects
18. Kill Bill vol 2
19. American History X
20. Se7en
21. Slap Shot
22. Braveheart
23. Pulp Fiction
24. Memento
25. Resevoir Dogs
26. The Nightmare Before Christmas
27. The Naked Gun
28. Good Morning Vietnam
29. Office Space
30. Edward Scissorhands
31. Million Dollar Baby
32. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
33. Twelve Monkeys
34. Clerks

43. Leon
44. A Beautiful Mind
45. Donnie Darko
46. Gladiator

49. Ed Wood
50. Ghostbusters

Hon. Mentions: Dumb and Dumber, The Indiana Jones Triology, Jaws, Mystic River, Man on the Moon, Shaun of the Dead, Sin City, some others I\'m sure I forgot...

I like to think I have a fairly wide range in taste of film as far as 16 year olds go. To be honest though, any number of those movies could shift to just about any spot on the list. All in all however I\'d have to say those would be pretty definite as my top 50.

Still have another 150 on my \"To Rent\" list.

Hmm there are some good choices here.

Mine are as follows.

Trilogies
1) Lord of the Rings
2) Star Wars 4-6
3) Indiana Jones

It was #45 in Fredrick\'s list on page one.

For me....

There are a few movies that I can watch over and over and over again.
In no particular order:

Shaun of the Dead
The Incredibles
Sin City
Dogma
The Emperor\'s New Groove
12 Monkeys
Independence Day (It\'s like a train wreck for me -- I hate it, but I can\'t look away)

BubbaHotep was hilarious. Should have had Jim Morrison in it too...

There\'s something about institutions that make amazing films. \'One flew over the Cuckoo\'s Nest\' was a blinder. The book is even better again.

Other films I do like are \'The Graduate\', \'The Godfather\', \'Ed Wood\' (Boris Karloff? F**k you!), \'The Machinist\' and a few others that I can\'t bloody remember. \'Clock Orange\' perhaps. I KNOW there are others I like, but I never can remember. \'Naked Gun\' :D

all of the Bruce Campbell love, and no one mentions Army of Darkness??

great movie, espeically if your an RP\'er. it has more rpg ready one liners than Princess Bride (and there\'s a lot in there)

I like all the Kevin Smith love, Drake....his movies are great....I haven\'t seen one I didn\'t like so far, but Chasing Amy was my favorite

Well, this should be posted into a \"beloved B-Movies\" thread as it\'s not really a good movie. Yes, it\'s hilarious and I love it, too, but well... it\'s crap! Hilarious crap though.

Poop!

No-one has said Seven Samurai yet, one of the best films ever made.

In fact any Akira Kurisawa film made before 1975. NOT Tora Tora Tora! That was wrecked by John Ford.

2001 (NOT 2010)
Blazing Saddles
City of God
Rez\' Dogs
Goodfellers
Starship Troopers (very very bad, but also very very good)
Bad Taste (Peter Jackson\'s 1st film)
Apocalypse Now (not the Redux, too flabby)
Jaws

Plus the usual Starwars (ep-4 to 6), maybe 3, LoTR extended versions.

Alien/Aliens
LOTR
Jean de Florette/Manon de Sources
Night on Earth
Various Laurel & Hardy
The Good, the Bad & the Ugly
Trainspotting
Blow Up
Alfie (Michael Caine)
Name of the Rose
Get Carter
Picnic at Hanging Rock
Local Hero

Shit loads more I guess. I tend to really hate big Hollywood stuff

Sorry double post.

Good call Beezlebrush!!!
