I tried to have a go at making saurus scales with tiny chunks of plasticard, but it didn\'t work. Has anyone had the same experience and can share it with me?
Thanks

A friend of mine swears by rolling up his \"wasted\" green stuff into little sausages and cutting them into little scales for his dragon.

Looks pretty good and I suspect it\'ll work for your mini too.

I always thought they were hexagonal if you look at them though.
Of course on mine I just did triangles. But then I\'m lazy and untalented.:cussing:

I saw this somewhere but cant remember where and I dont have the link but this is for scale armour and may work here as well.

So flatten gs
Let it cure a little say 15 - 20 minutes
cut cross hatch diamond pattern in gs.
Starting from bottom use round sculpting tool and pull out each scale.
Work towrds the top.
Now another step yu can use if the edge of a blade to then shape the scales into diamond shapes.

Good luck post pics.

You could always take a press of a saurus using either GS or Sculpey/fimo.
when its hardened take a little greenstuff and press it into the mould remove and hey presto saurus skin strips.

Reptilian/Amphibian skin can come in many patterns, not just diamond or hexagonals, almost any tessalating pattern will work, depending on your taste and the figure involved :)

Try doing a google search for snakeskin or crocodile skin :)
