Better Cavalry

Definitely Brets.

While Empire Knights got a somewhat better Armour Save (thanks to Plate Armour instead of Heavy), that\'s about it. Here now the pros the Brets got going for them which the Empire guys don\'t have:

- Bretonnian warhorses don\'t suffer -1 Movement range because of Barding. You\'re faster.

- Characters and units with a vow can get a 6+ or even 5+ ward save for free (almost, you lose first turn...)... You\'re safer.

- Dukes and Paladins can switch from lance to Hand Weapon after first round of combat. You get to get both the +2STR charge as well as the magic weapon!

- You have the Bretonnian lance formation. So, for example, if you charge with a 15-man unit, you get to attack with 11 of them... and need to get only the front three in contact... Meaning you run pretty much most things down on first impact... But that\'s what heavy cavalry will do, only the Brets do it best...

Hope that helps...

All cavalry sounds fun and stuff but \"line up, charge, repeat\" might get old fairly quick. No such experience myself but it\'s what I\'ve heard from a few Bret plalyers and an Empire player or two as well. The excitement and strategy of the game pretty much begins and ends with deployment for the all cavalry commander. Just a few words for consideration.

I\'d probably go with High/Dark Elves so there\'s some more options with the all cav lists i.e. magic, fast cav more integral and such. If I was feeling really adventurous I\'d go O&G all cav! Now that would never get boring. :D
