at GD this year i noticed that most enteries were on plinths,many with the title on.Where could i get hold of these as i think it makes a model more professional

Andrea Miniatures

You can get very nice plinths from Andrea Miniatures that are around 4 Euros, also Prince August has some nice plinths - those two companies are probably the biggest manufacturers of plinth bases

BTW it is calles soclé in most of europe - try browsing google for it
