Nice um...blocks of clay! Seriously, you know we're all stoked to see this develop. :worship:

So, uh...did you create the cast pieces or the owner or someone else? Well, I'm really just curious if it was you or not.

Cheer all :) as to the cast pieces, no they were done by the chap who comissioned the bust, they are very good except for a couple of things the gasmask seems a little too narrow at the chin, i will fill it out a bit and theres a casting problem with the trigger guard (a small piece missing) again all fixable. The blocks will eventually become the gas mask control/rebreather and backpack the litle green round bit of milliput will be the socket for the head to go into the main body which i plan to do today all being well. She who must be obeyed is off till next wednesday !!!! i must now go and clean windows and brush the leaves up in the back garden, married bliss lol.

Well here's the repaired trigger guard and the beefed out respirator face and the torso base next will be the detailing...let the fun commence lol

Interesting new project. The models left eye lens looks a liitle low and theres no definition of where his ears are obviously thats not your fault as its on the original good spot on the mask being to thin !

cheers Dave you are rigth there should be ear bulges im not 100% sure if i can fit them in due to the fit of the helmet, will try and give it some hint at ears tho. good catch :)

Not sure about the cheeks Cassar. Looks too much like he's got a pair of filters in cheek pouches vs. the one in the 'nose'. That or mutton chops. Oh well, here's to another most excellent sculpt!

Today progress was slow i have put the coat on him front and back i need to do the collar and some refinements before sarting into the packs i also sanded down the helmet (not really my remitt, however there were things bugging me, they are fixed now) i will post some pictures when the putty's cured.

The fact that the head and the putty have different colours may be causing some optic illusion... but it looks like he has huge jaws. I imagine him looking like this behind the mask.

its down to the optics i will post some more pics of the face and try and put in as many different angles as possible, i actually had to beef it up or he wouldnt have had a face lol.

I knew I should have kept my mouth shut when talking about his jaws!
It looks great!
With the helmet on... even better!

Sagh dont worry about it lol, its always harder to make out the details of something from images rather than the real thing and please keep the observations coming they are imensly helpful i have had my fat saved from the frier several times by helpful and constructive critism.
If theres something not right id like to hear about it :)

I was just about to say that the placement of the mask looked a little to high on the head, but looking at the Forge World models you may have to think about tipping his head back. To me the FW models, or 7 in 10 seem to be looking down their noses. I wonder if that's just the way that style of mask rides on the face or the high collars on the storm jackets combined with the hose in the front?

noticed that msyself Mud duck and that this chap seemed too upright its an easy fix i just shaved about 3mm off the flat top of the head angled towards the back this makes the helmet sit back and raises the look of snootyness lol, do you think it needs more taken off?
