I've been painting for a little under a year now, and I like to think I'm doing alright. I figured I'd start a WIP log, so i could look back in a couple of years and remember where i came from.

Long time no see, everyone.
So i finished up this guardsman, and I'm obviously not very prod of it. I need to work A LOT more on brush control. But I like to think I'm making progress in painting eyes/teeth. This one was just a test for the scheme/conversions, so hopefully the others won't turn out so awful.

I've also got these two fellass, who i think look quite good. I wanted to add as much as humanly possible to the generic box of three space marines, so a couple of hours and an exhausted bit supply later, this is what I came up with. I'm really excited to paint these two, and I'm open to suggestions for color schemes. (also, sorry for poor photo quality, a camera and light-box is next on my list of investments.)

Until next time.

What can I say/ Larry Larry Larry.... oh Larry .. Larry Larry Larry Larry Larry... and oh yeah ..Larry!!! Lol ok first off welcome. Your work looks very promising. The converted guys look absolutely wonderful. To think when folks do all out conversions on models (which I’m still in awe and envy from) you can’t help but to ponder-WOWEW IM THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD WOTH THIS MODEL!!! It’s just a fact and a tremendous endeavor. So Larry Larry Larry .. uh hun well done. Now as for you getting better at eyes and teeth / just move on ..simply you get the hang of that. I see nothing less than grand executions with this from this point on. Now I do agree with learning the brush how to use its diff brush shapes a brush can be made into for diff techniques (eg pointed vs flat tipped) . Also how to blend using the entire length of the brush , how to edg highlightising the body. Etc etc. After all that just dive right in and practice the several ways to get a gradiant( from 2 brush blending to feathering and glazing(juicing) etc etc. Ask questions and stay confident. And that’s my warm welcome Larry.;)

To hear that coming from you means so much to me. I was originally going to abandon ship and delete this thread, but you've inspired me to keep posting. Thank you so much for the warm welcome, and the reassurances. I'll be posting my latest works later today.

Thanks for the support

Keep at it mate, it seems pretty quiet around here but people are watching even if they're not posting, pretty sure the first 5 pages of my thread are mostly just me spamming pics lol, as for the minis, after seeing your signature I feel obliged to point out they're not dwarves :D the conversions look cool, from the imperial guard guy it looks like you could push the highlights and shadows more to create more contrast

Oh boy, oh boy have i been busy. What you're seeing here is just a few highlights of my 40k squat army. (hint hint) from top to bottom, you can see my imagining of master-brewer Josef Bugman, a converted sergeant, with equipment he stashed from the age of the imperium, a converted heavy weapons dwarf, and last but not least, King of Karak-eight peaks, Belegar Ironhammer.
Got a lot of interesting minis coming in the mail, and i'm working on a squat codex, so you can hopefully expect a lot more from me (take that as you may). I've obviously got some neatening-up to do on belegar, but lemme know what you think!
