Those two are amazing! I really love them both but I prfer Suki's one. It is brighter and easier to define, I think we can "read" the mini (is that understandable?) better on his version. But you're both so good, keep showing us your amazing ork minis.

Well, thanks to everyone who voted for me, the check's in the mail....

I do think I'll call this one as "Uberdarks Revenge Match" and concede on the grounds that he handily whupped my ass this time. (he's killing me over at The Waaagh!) Congratulations Uberdark!

Great competition Uber! I knew yours was gonna win big as soon as you flashed your finished paintjob up here. Super build all around and of course the paint is exceptional. Barring the Kannon for an assault type weapon, I can't find fault with your true to 4th ed Wazfdakka. Speed, intent, dynamic - these all are imparted by your work almost flawlessly. Of course, better than anything GW will eventually put out for it.

The critiques on mine, I agree on almost all points but in defense, I achieved the look I was going for. Yes, a throwback to the good old 2nd Edition. Big, beefy, and dakka! I was wondering how long it would take for someone to mention the dichotomy of the paintwork (not long) and how many people missed the three skulls since they weren't on fire (a few).

In the end, I had a great time, I hope everyone had a good time watching and we inspired more Bik Meks to give him a try, and we both ended up with new pretty models to add to our armies.

Freakin' cool thread guys!

I voted for Suki in the end. Just more contrast and 'pop' to it.

Uber's with it's fantastically darker tone, is wonderful as well, but some of the detail seems to have been lost because of that same darkness. More contrast would probably sacrifice the tone, but would make the scene more 'readable'.

In the end, it was those awesome barrels, exhaust pipes and Orky banner that won it.

I happen to notice that (at least people leaving comments/feedback) the older of us (that I'm aware of) in general are showing more support for the 2nd Edition style Wazdakka - mine, of course. I think the people who didn't play 2nd Ed are more in favor of Ubers "Speedier" looking work. This is a generalization so all caveats go with the observation. Older people like mine better!

That is interesting! It would be cool to have a breakdown of age vs. vote, and see if demographics are all they're cracked up to be.

both minis are awesome, but i like the 2nd ed. feeling of Sukigods version. so it all came down to personal preference and not which was better painted/modelled in those respects they are both awesome.
