Big Stuff

Hey kids.

I\'m looking for something big to paint. That is, something on a large scale. I painted that humungous resin Rackham Clone bust once and it turned out really well, so I\'m trying to find something else that\'s big and detailed.

Does anyone have any ideas? I\'ve been hunting around but I\'ve run out of inspiration.

Thanks dudes,

Aescarion

I can vouch for the qualty of the PP stuff.

They are very good with almost no preparation needed at all. They even claim to be pre-primed! I don\'t trust the primer however....

JJ models do some really nice stuff. You have to wade through the \'cheesecake\' but there are some beauties such as this:

This was painted up by sivousplay (Jim). Checkout his gallery as he has some other large scale stuff there. The nice thing about the JJ fantasy range is that a number of them can also be assembled so that you don\'t have to hide them when the in-laws call:D

I presume you know about the other Rackham resins....

Check out the Pegaso site....they do some lovely stuff

HTH....If you can provide a clearer idea of what you are after, we can probably come up with a few more suggestions:D

The Figure Trader makes some great looking figures:

Both nice, about 13 inches high, pricey, though. A link ishere.

Otherwise, generally available on Ebay for a pittance is the wonderfull plastic model by Ed \"Big Daddy\" Roth, the original Rat Fink figure:

Mine cost about 10 bucks on Ebay, stands about 6-7 inches tall and oozes charm...would make this guy a Nurgle Lord if I wasn\'t afraid of getting sued ;).....

edit: Almost forgot, show this fig before but it should work for you:

Models and sizes vary, there are lots of different manufacturers of these around, but the plus is that the figs are available everywhere.lollol

Hey!

That\'s not a mini....!!!

or even a maxi!

I reckon that\'s approximately 1:1 scale..;)

That\'s another thing to add to my, \'before I die\' list.....:D

Finally! A model that would convince finn to paint.

edit: That fig by sivousplay is sheer inspiration, finn. Thanks for bringing it out of obscurity.

Also some great resin models (1/6 and 1/8 scale) over at Hobbylink Japan. www.hlj.com

...or if you don\'t morally mind purchasing a recast, there\'s www.e2046.com

lol

@ finn - wow...the naughty finn comes out. Maybe you\'ve been hanging out with the collective a little too much. :D

lol

Would a bushel even be large enough? :innocent:

On another note, just talked to a friend of mine who\'s going to look into getting the two female resins from PP for me. Said he might be able to get me a really good deal. :bouncy:

Dunno why I\'ve never thought of trying to get PP minis cheap from him. ???lol But now...oh yes...I can expand my collection and soon...my unpainted army will take over...umm...at least my living room.

wow that bio mech girl is really cool, too bad it\'s so expensive, :( The celtos one isn\'t bad either.

And I think nobody mentioned forgeworld for large stuff :p Andrea models have a lot of large models even though they are more historical. They do have a whole \'hollywood\' line with such things as capitain barbarossa from the black pearl movie, or maximus from gladiator..
and if mangas are you\'re cup of tea go check out ebay their are tons of really nice resin models.

frenchkid, I\'d be getting the biomech if she wasn\'t so expensive.

Makus, that\'s a great link, I thought the Pegaso females were oop...they\'re really nicely done, a local model shop has some on display, not for sale, though. I gotta look a little more at these, excuse please...:Dlollol
