Hello all, after being inundated with request for a step by step for the big Tau battlesuit, the best i can come up with is a little bit of explanation that will help anyone else wanting to tackle something like this a bit more info. This is not a step by step, rather just a roll call of bits. Happy reading
hammerhead/devilfish hull for the body with added vents from a FW remora drone either side of the optics made from various bits and tubing. The back section of body is made from two Skyray turrets sandwiching two stealth suit jets and missile pods, the lower fin from commander Shadowsuns drone and various bits of guitar wire and plastic tubing. Exhausts were made from remora exhaust ports. Under the body long barrelled burst cannon bodies toped with drop pod vents were used as the main exhausts while the barrel of an Ion cannon connects a remora wing as the main rear fin. the head is made from a stealth suit minus the jets and bulked out with bits of detail with a crisis suit head ball joint as a single eye/lense.

The hip assembly is made from a tau hatch and a cut down chaos command upgrade mount. Below this are the main engine from a FW remora drone with an ion cannon barrel split and placed either side. Two more long barreled burst cannon drums connect to ruby (yes real ruby!) beads that will connect to the legs. The front of the groin area is covered with the plate that normally holds on a hammerhead chin targetting array.

The legs are ion cannons toped with hatch assemblies (severely filed down). the lower half of the leg is 2/3 of a hammerhead Railcannon connected to the top section with half of a broadside Railgun. more remora bits are used for the vents on the rear as are more bits of tubing and hammerhead Railgun barrels that connect to scratch built ankles. Each thigh is covered with two outside halves of hammerhead/devilfish engines joined together. The front of the foot is a pirhanna nose with a cutaway and filled fifth plastic card and a remora intake in the centre. The rear toe is made from the cut away part of the Pirhanna nose used for the front of the foot.

The tops of the arms are made from FW Remora burst cannon connected to the smart missile system holders used on a hammer head. This is then hidden behind another Pirhanna nose section with a cut away to include yet more FW Remora vents. These then connect to an Ork Stompa gun section from the main weapon. Added to one side of this is housing is the weapon made from twin hammerhead Railguns slotted inside two outside Pirhanna engine covers. The rear of the weapons are made from yet more FW Remora drone burst cannons with two feet from the FW Sentry towers. Various bits of detail from drop pods and crisis suits were added to add detail. The inside of the gun and the arm joints are covered with various sized drone bodies, while the outside has a FW sentry turret top as a large shield.
This whole project uses lots of various bits from all kinds of kits to hide joins/seams/connections as well as lots of guitar wire, plastic and aluminium tubing and plastic card to add bits of detail and points of interest.
Hope that helps

F-ING FANTASTIC!! That was very helpful and informative. How many Remora's did you sacrifice for this masterpiece. I'm entertaining some ideas about resin casting some parts to have enough to build this guy, as FW stuff is an expensive import in the US. Have you played any games with it and if so did the other guy cry when it came into play? Thanks for this,
Chase
