BILL!!!!

This thing was sat in my garden just now. Now i have an intense phobia of wasps and bees (putting your foot into a nest of angry wasps does that to you!!) so this is as close as i could manage to get. it was about 3 inches long
Is it a queen wasp or something else?

Not sure about it being a wasp looking at it it seems very simular to the European Hornet Here but again these are only about 35mm long and you said the beastie in your garden is 3 inches???

Hell I wouldn\'t even go in the bloody garden if that thing was there

I believe it\'s one o the paper wasps.. a beauty too. will have to hit the books to find out which one.. The yellow eyes are cool . he\'s certainly a nice looking beasty..

well the wife reckons it was an inch shorter (story of my life!!) so we\'ll say 2 1/2. it came back later on and scared the hell out of me
