Recoil: i think perhaps you misinterpret my post. Im simply saying that i find it sad that the human race spends so much \'effort\' to greive these days. I dont know about anyone else but i was always taught to look to the future & not dwell on the past. I was simply stating my feelings on the subject (as one member has since stated: \"to each their own\")

and please dont get personal about it, these forums are not really the best place for that, or so im led to believe...

Possibly you got that response because your first post was a personal attack on every person who had taken the time to comment on the deaths of people recently.

Personally I see no issue with people noting the passing of the famous. They have obviously effected a large number of people in one way or another over the years otherwise they wouldn\'t be famous.

As to the why give a fuck about people you don\'t know attitude. I would question how that is of any great benifit to the human races future as well.

Ok, yeah, lets refrain from personal attacks.

Doodie head

Actually that barely passes as an insult, I can\'t even think about those words in tandem without laughing my ass off... We are your future btw.

Be afraid.

There you go!

That is a true hero!

Here\'s another hero that was tragically murdered here in my local area>>>

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20090624/NEWS/90624008

He was a fantastic high school football coach for a small town here in Iowa (one that just a year ago was devastated by a tornado, and this man lost his house there as well). He was the winner of a NFL High School Coach of the year last year, and from all accounts a real stand up guy.

He was an inspiration to many students and families, and was gunned down by a former student with some mental issues.

Quite tragic.

Billy Mays here with another fantastic product!
I always had a good laugh watching his selling technique on the internet. Not as good as Barry Scott shouting for Cilit Bang though ;)

I kind of think the word \"hero\" is used much to often theses times.
Sorry guys, but a footballteacher who was good in his job and helped rebuild his town is a hero???
1. He got paid for that!! making a good job doesn`t make you a hero (well exept in sowiet russia where they had this \"hero of work\" concept ;-))
2. Its his town, so what? I know plenty of people who would help out their neighbours in situations like that. What else could he do? Run away crying?
3. Doesn`t it seem quite suspicious that the shooter went straight at that guy and spared everyone else? I`m not saying he molested him or something like that, but I would wait for the whole story to come up before praising him so much.

And that navy pilot? Two of that wars he was in where at least morally questionable. He showed balls, but that alone doesn`t make you a hero in my opinion.

You want a war hero? Here you go:

\"omg i spend half my own life grieving for others then whadaya know? Im suddenly 65 myself! Shit!! IM gonna die soon but nobody is gonna remember me?\"

Get a fucking grip of your own lives please people? You only got one life (allegedly)

Good posting that fellow :)

I can agree with you there Yuggoth.

But while I can see the moral issues surrounding Vietnam, I dont see the moral issues around either Korea or WWII.

Give me a break. A person who gets paid can\'t be a hero?

There are plenty of people that go through life and just do their job, and of course they are not heros.

But the guy I referenced has gone above and beyond the job. In fact, the story was so compelling that Sports Illustrated put it as their cover story.

http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/cover/featured/11268/index.htm

Sure, I\'m cynical as all get out as well, but people are allowed to have heros...AND they don\'t have to fit into your rather thin definition.
