Bizzare day

Had a bit of a strange day today.

I was walking the dog and went past one of my best mates houses, saw two guys pull up in a car across the road, thought nothing of it. 20 mins later, walking back home, see one of them running to their car with a box, the other puts his foot down. My friends frount door is wide open and his dog is barking his head off.

I rang him up straight away and waited for his stepdad to get there, but i didnt manage to get the car regestration only its colour and i feel a little bit guilty. I guess i could have done something, but it wasnt in the best of areas and knifes are used quite often (guns too for that matter).

I\'m speaking to the Police tomorrow and am a little nervous, because i cant remember the exact details, i guess its best to just keep it simple and take my time remembering.

Just needed to get that off my chest. Feel a bit better now.

Real life heroes make the obituaries more often then the front page holding a key to the city.

Talk to the cops and do what you can, but don\'t beat yourself up.

I of course would have done one of two things....

1) Gone in crazy Tai-Chi master style and represented all over those thiefs...

2) Waited until the thiefs pulled away and gone in and taken anything they had missed....

Yea dont worry about it alex, most things like that will generally shake you up, but you\'ll be fine with the police. Just tell them what you can remember and i am sure they will appreciate anything you can give them.

Had a few opportunities like that before myself, i saw a mate get hit by a brick and couldnt remember the specific details of what the attackers were wearing etc little things.

Everybody seems to be having weird days, thursday was odd for me with a uni seminar turning into pretty much a slanging match.

They obveously wenrt very good theifs, only taking a large box of make up (his mum was thowing a make up party, whatever that it..)
and leaveing the brand new 42\" flatscreen tv...

Hopefully the Police will catch em, if not i will not be pleased!

Dont sweat it man, you did the right thing not getting involved at the time. Its not worth it (im speaking from experience here, but wont bore you with the details)

And dont worry about talking to the law, because they will see that you are nervous and we all know that the only people who are not nervous talking to them are the criminals.

And, as ScottRandom says: \'don\'t beat yourself up\' (the cops will do that for you lollollol)

I\'ve been a hero a couple of times. It\'s scary, it usually hurts, and can haunt you for years. You did (and are doing) the right thing the right way.

Just tell the police what you saw, don\'t try to embelish anything, you\'ll be fine.

(* My mate\'s a 15 year police veteran, ex-Royal Marine, tough as they come and has still had to \"take his lumps\" sometimes. He knows that you can\'t beat everyone.)

A lad here that a few of my mates knew died last year after being attacked by three robbers with planks.

Spoke to a copper, he was really cool and that made me relax a little and i managed to tell him the details just fine. Might have to do a full written statement at a later date but thats fine with me.
