Black airbrush primer?

Hi,

I\'m giving airbrushing a try and want to use it primarily to prime my minis. On many brands of airbrush acrylics, there doesn\'t seem to be black primer, only grey or white. Is there one out there and which brand? Thanks.

The Derivan MiNiS line includes a black primer that, according to the manufacturer, can be airbrushed. In the US, Olde Rivertowne Miniatures carries the line.

I put a thinned black artist gesso through my badger for primer. I thin it 50:50 with rubbing alcohol. It works like a dream, just don\'t touch the mini for 24hrs after spraying it.

It cleans up with either rubbing alcohol or windex.

You looking for actual primer or just black paint? There can be a big difference in how well they work.

It cleans up with...windex.

I have heard from several pros not to use windex or amonia based cleaners in airbrushes with chromed plated parts.
