Here my new mini, a pirate from Freebooter range.
May be there is too much colours...

After the carnage subsided and the initial boarding was concluded, the members of the crew of the captured vessel stared in horror at one another as the raiding party began a slowly rising chorus of YMCA. It was at that moment they realized that they had been defeated by Blackbeard and his flamboyant crew of multi-hued corsairs. Many of the captive began to weep in realization that they were about to be redecorated...

lol

the painting is pretty good actually, but I gotta say I\'m not sure about color choice.

Add to the story guys. I know we can have a lot of fun with this.

Voted btw. 7 for me on the painting.

Yeah I think it looks cool too, like Matt has said at first glance I to wasn\'t sure about the colours, but after a few moments looking at them I actually like them, looks very much Sea farer.
Good job.

I\'m all for the color choices. He is after all a pirate and while history might show our imagery to be completely wrong I think most peoples mental image of pirates (especially the captain) have them as quite colorful and flamboyant.

Well... legend has it that Jack Rackam - aka Calico Jack (so called because of the very bright calico clothes he wore) was Charles Vane\'s quartermaster at the time Vane and Blackbeard had an epic week long party in 1718.

Maybe Blackbeard picked up some fashion tips :D

While I\'m not 100% convinced about the colours on the mini, they are very well applied and the whole thing has a very good look to it and I would say is a solid 8 - 8.5 from me.

I really like the color choices. I looked at the mini for quite a while before reading the comments so I was a bit surprised to see that they drew so much notice. I think perhaps they did because you drew attention to them in your introduction of the piece. I dig \'em, though.

Anyway, I like your painting a lot. Very smooth. One thing that did draw my attention and that I can offer as critique is that I think he could benefit from some deeper shadows around/under the items tucked into his belt. I could be the lighting for the photo but I think they would really \'pop\' with a little stronger contrast.

That said, I dig the mini. Nicely done! =)

PS: Avast! I love all the pirate minis lately!!!
