Black Milliput

Now, I know it's not optimal to use since it's hard to see details on a black surface but, has anyone used it(Black Milliput) and tried it out for sculpting? I don't know why but there's something tempting with the idea of having a black putty to sculpt with and I guess I'm basically wondering if it's worth the effort of procuring some or not.

With a bit of afterthought I realise that it just might be better if this thread was in the P&C-section. Mods, feel free to move it!

Never tried the black but I would assume it would be like the Terra Cotta, Super fine with the colouring.

If that's the case then it would be quite lovely to sculpt in. Hmm... Might be worth it just for the fun of it then.

It's not jet black, so this wouldn't be as bad as you might think.

Although personally if I were going to the expense of buying something like this I'd get the black version of MagicSculp.

You can make black putty yourself at home, well a very dark grey at least. It's easy to colour most putties (any of the clay-like ones) by just blending in some paint or pigment/pastel dust.

Using paint the putty can initially be a bit sticky but this settles down after a short while.

@Rugne: Now that DID spark some wonderfully lame cliché sculpting ideas!

But I believe I'll try out Einion's recipe for dark putty first, then I'll at least get an idea of how it feels to sculpt in that colour before I rush off and buy something I might regret(again).
