Black shiny NMM

Ok, I\'ve read the EXCELLENT Magmatrax guide on gold nmm. I\'ve looked through a few threads and found a little info on dark NMM, but not quite what i\'m looking for...

I\'m trying my first bit of NMM on a mini, and I wanted to go for a high gloss, reflective black, like onyx. (I guess thats not \"NMM\", since onyx isnt a metal...)

I\'ve been working on it for about 2 or 3 days, and i think i\'ve ALMOST got it, using black, codex grey and white and some very, very narrow shading.
It\'s not quite right though, and the only source images i can find are of actual onyx through google, which helps, but I\'d love to see a mini that has had this type of NMM done.

(also, i dont want to use gloss paints. against my religon.)

Sorry, starting from the top of that mini, can\'t seem to get past the red!lol

But seriously, yeah, the boots do look good with the highlights dome up like that...hmmmm....

Thanks a ton though, while not exactly the same effect i\'m trying for, it does help a LOT.

heres a wip shot, the sword is where i\'m going for the black sort of SENMM.

Anyway, any tips? it looks like it should be darker, maybe make the bands even narrower?
