Black Templar Chaplain/Reclusiarch conversion

At this point I feel like I largely have clean up to do -- but I would *LOVE* some feedback.

I have only painted this guy to the quick and simple standard I\'m going to do my troops to -- and now I somewhat wish I\'d taken the time to really show him off. Ah well, I might be able to go back and do that later.

The backpack is magnetic. I haven\'t finished the regular BT backpack... the one that was supposed to be on the Marshal I entered in to the competition. Oops.

The crusade shield brings back the oh so controversial checks - and includes a skull and fleur. I will find a variation to do on the company banner when it comes to that but keep the colours and iconography.

I still need to paint the handle on the crozius. Any recommendations from the crowd?

Thanks again for following the thread - and your feedback is appreciated. Heck, feedback has almost totally changed the look and feel of this mini!

That\'s a really nice looking character misterjustin! I especially like the skull helmet and the controversial checks ;) The \'TEMPLAR\' shoulderpad came out well too.

As for the crozius handle, I woud suggest an off white for the wrap (e.g. bleached bone) and perhaps introduce some silver to the crozius on the rim near the hand.

One small point - it\'s a shame you left the mold line on the arm, however, it would be quite easy to scrape it off and paint the black back again.

Look forward to see it finished and on a nice base. :)

Cheers,
Tom

For easy handles I often use shadow grey over the black undercoat with the black showing in the recesses, not complicated and fast. Another is codex grey and then a layer of fortress grey, again not complicated, and I think they both give some color to the mini without drawing to much attention away from the more important parts. Think I would go for the grey here. Another option is a not to bright red.

Hi, looking good.
Where did all the plastic chaplin like bits come from? the chaos warriors?
I hate to go against the flow, but the templar letters on the shoulder pad really bug me, they\'re not tight enough, cloaks looking good though, your free hand looks like it\'s stronger.
