Black Templar Dreadnought

I\'ve been working on this guy off and on for quite some time now. Michael Lugo (our own electrolito!), with his Ravenwing in White Dwarf this month, had been helping me with my black armour -- I thought I would finally snap some shots of the progress.

I\'ve been doing one piece at a time and getting feedback before I move on. Each of the black sections is finished and if you look closely you can probably figure out which order I painted them in.

I hope to apply what I\'ve learned to the Emperor\'s Champion model for my BT army.

Feedback is, as always, welcome and appreciated.

Dreadnoughts everywhere MUAHAHAHAHA.
Veerry nice work. Great weathering... Might have to nick some of that for mine once I get to that stage. Keep up the good work, I\'d love to see more of your Black Templars, looks like it is quite the force.

Great work. I like the weathering too, but are the proportions of the freehand cross on the ML correct?

looks very good, especially like the scipting and other freehand work. Could I suggest a bit of bright colors for the capital letters on the scroll on the assault cannon arm. Old illuminated scrips tended to use very sharp and bright colors for just that.
Think we should have us a dreadfest when they are all done :drunk:

Finally time for an update on this one.

I\'ve set him aside as more-or-less finished at this point. I still don\'t like the base... but I\'m less worried about it at this point. I learned a lot about how to paint black, improve weathering, and paint damage/chipping.

As a stepping stone I\'m pleased with it. I don\'t think it\'ll make any of my army lists though so it\'s probably eBay bound... but not until I get tired of looking at it and using it for ideas.

The banner I did as a nod to one of my clients -- celebrating a crusade in which they were assisted by the Galadorn 54th.

Feedback is, as always, welcome and appreciated.

Ahh and there it was - well done.
Think it came out the way you wanted, looking worn and battle hardened. I think it works rather well with the bright colors at the front for contrast. you got a lot of cool little details wich make it really looking alive.

Got a woting link?
