Blackwater Gulch - Kickstarter Launched!

First off let me apologize in advance if this kind of "ad" post is frowned upon, I'm just trying to get the word out about my very first mini :)

The Bounty Hunter Gang Leader is finally available!

$11.49 (usd)

You can get him directly from my site at http://www.gangfightgames.com.

Some would call them a Jack or Jill of all trades, Bounty Hunters excel at catching a man dead or alive... Usually dead. To get the job done, they master of a variety of weapons and tend to be stronger than most. Some bring only criminals to justice, but most will go after any bounty that pays well enough.

Bounty hunters gain +1 Strength when first recruited. They are known to use a wide variety of different weapons, and to reflect this they may use equipment one level higher than their current Ranged or Melee Combat Attributes with no penalty. Additionally, If your Gang Leader is a Bounty Hunter, any friendly model within 12" of him may reroll their Morale roll if they fail.

This package includes 1 Bounty Hunter Gang Leader Body, 1 Bounty Hunter Weapon Sprue and 1 30mm round plastic base. The included weapons allow you to equip your Gang Leader with a Rolling Block Rifle (Longarm), Coach Gun (Shotgun), Colt 45 (Pistol), Bowie Knife or Tomahawk (1-Handed Melee).

The size and scale of the figure is compatible with most "28mm Herioic" miniatures, standing 30mm to the eye, 34mm to the top of his hat. Model supplied unpainted. Not recommended for children under 13. Made in the USA, from good old fashioned white metal.

Sculpted and designed by Pedro Ramos.

It's cool to see new lines move forward, but given that premium sculpts of miniatures from companies like Wyrd or Hasslefree sell for 7-9 dollars, this one seems a bit too high for what it is.

No offense meant, and I certainly don't understand all that goes into pricing a miniatures, but I am a consumer, and have bought plenty of 'Old West' minis from Reaper or Black Scorpion, and those prices seem more in line to what I'd expect.

I actually just reduced the price to $9.99 :) Basically, I'll be packaging my own minis from now on, so that cuts my costs down a bunch on future models. I lowered the price of the bounty hunter to match, since it's only fair that they're all the same price.

I'm also intending to do a lot of single-piece-sculpt figures soon, that will come 2 in a pack for hopefully the same price. So a starting gang of 5 will be around $30 if all goes well. Just getting started now though, so those are a little ways off. I'm hoping to have my Gambler Gang Leader ready to go in March.

Got some new artwork to share :)

First, here’s 2 figure concepts from Shane Tyree. First is a lawman, a deputy that will be included in the forthcoming Vigilance Committee starter set. And also a masked Outlaw, making like he’s ducking behind some cover. He’ll be included in the Clancy Gang Starter Set which will be the first set. The Clancy Gang will come with the Gambler Gang Leader, Wrassler, Gunslinger, Bandit Girl and Masked Outlaw. But more on that later, here’s the pics :)

Next, on my site I have these 2 big fellas on either side of the main content area, they’re an Outlaw and Lawman done by Don Ellis Aguillo. They’ll be part of the box art for the starters, and I’ll most likely get figures sculpted to match too, eventually. But here they are again, without getting cut off.

I have more artwork for the other figs on my site at http://www.gangfightgames.com and right now I’m in the process of lining up sculptors to get all 4 figures done for the Clancy Gang starter all done around the same time. Hoping to have all 4 new sculpts done by April :)

I'm very pleased to announce the launch of the Blackwater Gulch Kickstarter Program!

If you are unfamiliar with Kickstarter, it is a website that allows a company to get the funding they need for a new product or service, directly from fans and potential customers. I am using Kickstarter get the funding needed to produce box sets for the game. These sets will include 5 unique 30mm miniatures, 5 premium Character Cards and a "quickstart" rulebook, all packaged in a handy foam-lined plastic case that you can use to store and transport your figures.

Potential backers are essentially pre-ordering one or more of the upcoming box sets, in addition to bundled deals with scenery pieces, and even the opportunity to create your very own character or gang that will be permanently added to the storyline for the game world!

For more information, please visit my Kickstarter page at:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1763460781/blackwater-gulch-gangfights-in-the-old-west

There, you will find all the information on how to support the game, and what different packages are offered, in addition to sample sculpts and concept art for new figures that that will be included.

So, please check it out, and for more information on the game you can visit my website at http://www.gangfightgames.com
