bleached bone/white layering

hi,
what is the best way to build up a good light brown (bleached bone) look, like on cloaks or seals. but without blending, i\'m not that good yet

I would base coat with Graveyard Earth or similar. Then I would apply layers with GE mixed with a little bit of Bleached Bone to it. Add more BB for each layer and cover smaller areas each time. Keep the paint thin so you don\'t build up a coarse surface. Apply several layers with the same mix if necessary (better than doing one thick layer). Finish off with pure BB and maybe add white if you want it brighter.

Indeedy-do - just the way I do it Ritual

Depending on how old you want your paper to look, you can use different shades of browns/yellows etc.

If you are doing a large \"paper\" surface, such as the pages of a book, you could try adding stains with a watered diown wash, or frayed edges by dryburshing with a darker or lighter colour.

The way i\'ve been doing this is a basecoat of snakebite leather (needs a few coats if on chaos black basecoat), followed by the same with bubonic brown. Finish that off with Bleached Bone and you can then highlight with a little bit of Bleached Bone & Skull White if you prefer - works a treat on skulls
