blending small areas

does anybody know of any techniques? ive tried glazing but i just cant do it. any help would be greatly appreiciated:beer:

A few succesively lighter (or darker) layers will do the trick. The smaller the area is, the less important the smoothness of the blending is.

Are you asking about blending, as in wet blending or just about doing smooth transitions?

Glazing, as I think you mean it here, is really very simple; should easily be within your reach.

smooth ransitions mainly. by the glazing i mean glazing through blending. and my problem with glazing is that now im finlly getting results. it just loks like ive solidly painted the new colour on top, theres no underlying colour left

If you are to achieve transitions through glazing, you can\'t glaze the entire area. You should try and feather the glazes so that you gradually can build up the transition.

But, on really small areas this is perhaps not the best method. I suggest layering instead, as I mentioned above.

Ritual nailed it. As did Einion When you are painting real small areas it is more about creating the illusion of a blend. Layering with smaller and smaller layers works well.
