Blond Hair

I am currently starting a High Elf army and I am looking to take my painting skills to the next level.

I have began using glazing as a form of highlighting(with decent results, need more practice) but I have come to the hair portion of the model and need some help.

I am trying use a somewhat \"muted\" pallette and I was wondering if anyone had any good mixes for blond(ish) hair, I definatley dont want a bright yellow tinge to it, more sandy I guess with a little yellowish...if you know what I mean.

GW Foundation Iyenden Yellow, Wash down with Vallejo Leather Brown. Highlight with Vallejo Beige, and add in Vallejo Ivory to raise tones.

Hm. good GW colours: Graveyard earth, kommando khaki, bleached bone and a bit of white. Washes with graveyeard earth to smooth it out. I suppose you can use khemri brown as a base as well.

Maybe:
base Khemri
Wash with devlan mud or similar
Graveyard --> kommando khaki --> bleached bone ---> White

And in between washed of GY earth and khaki to smooth it out. I guess this is a bit complicated for an army perhaps? But Maybe you can experiment and see if you can simplify it.

My next blond hair mix will be. Bubonic Brown base, shaded with Snakebite Leather (maybe Scorched Brown for the deepest shades) highlighted with gradual mixes of Bleached Bone with Bubonic Brown. Probably pure Bleached Bone for the lightest parts. I reckon this would work really well!

For my last head of blond hair I wanted something with little yellow tint- more of a dusky blond (like my daughters hair lol). I used an \"Aged Bone\" color from the Reaper Master Series and shaded with a mix of that and Flat Earth from Vallejo. A little Ivory to the mix for highlights.

just remembered, GW\'s old Bronzed Flesh is good for doing blonde hair as it\'s really quite yellowish
