Blood Angels Master of the Fleet

Hey guys,
It's been a very long time since i've posted here on CMON, or even painted for that matter :p

I took a rather long break (since last years Australian Golden Demon in October) to work on some other hobbies that interest me, but i've lately had the itch to get painting again.
I started work on this guy last week to get back into the swing of painting and in all he only took me a few days, which is alot quicker than usual :p

He's a quicker paint job than usual and is being listed on eBay.

I decided to go with Blood Angels to gain some practice with working with reds, and overall he's a lot brighter and cleaner when compared to my previous mini's (i.e previous GD entries)

Warning! Blatant self advertising! eBay link for those interested: Link

Let me know what you think, feels good to be painting again :D

hello sir, nice mini on a nice base, however i feel he's not as finished as he should be.
there are lots of areas on him that could be taken up to a higher, to create a crisper appearance for the over all look of the mini.edges of armour and metal decor. as well as the axe handle looks very flat.
the jewel on him is highlighted upside down as well. if you were to do this the mini will 'pop' so much more.
the base is ace.:)

Thanks for the reply Tommie, fantastic to receive feedback from someone with as much skill as yourself :D

As i mentioned this was a quicker paint-job than usual so a few areas probably suffered because of this, when compared to the time i would spend on a more display-oriented piece.
Saying that though you do point out a few areas that are rather quick to improve and i'll definately be doing some touch ups. I also just noticed, as you mentioned, that the gem was painted backwards, i have a rather bad habit of doing that :p

Thanks again for your feedback :D
