Blood Elves WIP [feedback requested]

I\'m painting some minis to look like Blood Elves from World of Warcraft. I\'ve gotten fairly far but I need some input.
I don\'t know what color to do the poofy sleeves (studded), helmet tassles or weapon grips. Any thoughts from WoW players?

Perhaps the people who looked aren\'t WOW players, so didn\'t feel they can help. I hated the game when I played it and have tried to wipe the experience from my mind in preparation for Warhammer Online, so I can\'t give any suggestions.

I will say that your colours require a good bit of shading and highlighting, because at the moment they are very stark and overly bold and flat.

Oh yeah, and your signature picture is too tall. Check the sticky at the top of the general discussion forum.

These are good as a base. Some more contrast would help. Also finish the bases (yep I know its a wip) Also the eyes could use a black line (well prob dark brown) around them. Nice work so far tho.

Red and Gold (Yellow), with a little touch of black are the colours of most of the npc blood elfs in the game, so I imagine these will be good colours for your model.

There\'s already a lot of red on them, so I don\'t know what I\'d do to make the sleeves stand out. Someone suggested a light grey, and someone else said to go with deep royal purple.

Heres some pics of some blood elfs. It may give you a little inspiration:

There are some interesting vibrant greens mixed into their colourschemes, but not too much in these pictures. That might work well...

Personally I think you need to add some conversions to this to really give the WoW elf feel. The anime inspired huge ears would really help.

Thanks, I\'ll give green a try (dark angels green with maybe jade green highlights). I do notice the blood elf girls don\'t wear a lot. I wish I had the sculpting skill for the antenna ears...

I haven\'t played WoW since Burning Crusade came out. What the hell is the Panda thing on the character creation screen?

And your signature pic is still too big Samurai Girl.

I think that they look much better without the green, but I don\'t know if that fits the background of the game as well. Perhaps try using a wash or two of the darker red (the one on the sash hanging from the halberd) in the recesses of the bright red to add some depth and take away from the slightly too bright colour.

Slightly darker washes on things like the skin, hair and metal will vastly improve these with little extra effort too.

Yeah this is mostly base coats right now. Green seems to fit the game better than the grey. Now just to figure out what to do for the helmet tassles....
