To strengthen what I meant is the "fad" , which I feel it is and that's my opinion which in rightfully entitled is that places with no light people tend to use the zenithal lighting rule and use black I wasn't speaking of nmm as black needs to be used along with whites. These aren't flat canvas they're smaller versions of 3 dimensional beings. Look at a human being never do you see pure black where light doesn't reach it's a subtle shadow of the color of skin cloth etc. so yes I do firmly stand on " the fad" that not only I but Sven avelorn have both agreed on shadows (all except nmm) should not be taken to black in person these models look unnatural. And for the record as well the subject was the face I think we were talking bout.:/

Eavy metals style FYI is subtle . Don't know exactly where one would come up with those 3 step edge highlight garbage but if it was that easily obtained then I guess we all could do the subtle job of the eavy metal team. Remind me to ask kornel kozac if a couple of edge highlights is how they do things. But I'm ranked 239/9,000 and change what would I know.

Hey BFK what are your plans for a base with this guy? I picture a stair case behind him with some tapestry hanging, I'm sure you have something much better in mind though. I just can't wait to see it.

Well Digganob, I am glad you asked. Your idea has merit, and if I had the supplies I'd probably do it. ButI have what looks like the rubbled remains of an Elven statue from Scibor miniatures. It's the feet and a head, with plants and logs growing around them. I'd like to make it an overgrown forest scene of Elven ruins. Lots of flowers if possible. Trying to find a good do it yourself site for flowers, maybe sun flowers. The dark elf is on a raid of a wood elf village.

Hey BFK,

He certainly is looking very good. Congrats on your win too.

For flowers I saw some army painter meadow flowers stuff a while ago that looked good for very small wild flower type scenery. I also had the good fortune to rescue the seed head from a leek or onion plant in our garden a couple of years back. After a couple of weeks drying in the sun the tiny flowers from that made a reasonable in scale approximation of roses/poppies on the dancer I painted for my wife. So check natural stuff if you can find a source.

Roger that, Stew. You hit the nail on the head with those flowers from Army Painter. Purchased them two weeks ago! Great painters think alike :)

Unfamiliar with these seed heads you speak of. Will have to look into this, though I don't want to have to wait weeks for them to dry. Maybe for a future piece? Or, if they look the same prior to drying, they can dry on the base (?).

My plan is to use 26 gauge copper wire along with green stuff and very thick printer paper from work to make a variety of pretty flowers for the base. Maybe sun flowers since they're easier to scale with the base and mini.

Finally, thank you for the compliments brother. Lots of support for this mini and it has me highly motivated! Cheers mate!!!!
