Train dio kind of looks just like what you were looking for. Maybe you could have your airship docking at a high flying train depot. :)

Somehow I got on Scale75's mailing list. I've not really sure how, I've never ordered directly from them. But I don't mind the updates! Facebook groups and the comment sections on other mini related kickstarters are also good spots to hear about other upcoming kickstarter and indiegogo projects.

Yes. Another good source for finding interesting mini companies that you otherwise didn't know existed is to look at mini painting mags. I've been getting Figure Painter Magazine recently and have discovered some good sources via their ads.

Yes the train is rather proportioned like the "I think I can," caboose. It fits with the Disney style characters, though. With the proper weathering I think it could like quite striking :)

Think these just came out. Will tell u what I think of them soon. So now there VMC, VAC, VGC, VPC, and the new VGA. Most people find VGC inferior to VMC, but I find VGC highly useful because they match up so well to the old line of Citadel. For instance, Snakebite Leather is produced no more. There isn't a perfect equivalent from the new GW line (although I found a way to make it work by mixing). VGC makes leather brown, aka cobra leather, which IMO is the exact same as Snakebite. Well, Vallejo Game Air now makes a leather brown too, so this is a Snakebite Leather, but at a consistency more fit to paint straight from the pot.

Well i am just glad you have knees. Otherwise how would you steer your 'Stang??? (Best safety rating of a convertible ever. Also 300 hp V6...What??? 'Merica! F'Yeah!)

That's all I got, it was a long day. When are you sending me some picts?

Busted! Yes I was driving and CMONing. Guilty. I actually have the V8 version so it's got some extra power. I bought it in Iraq, it was assembled in Dubai, and shipped to my local dealership and was waiting there for me when I got home. Paid $10k less than the MSRP in the USA so it was a steal.

Maybe I should paint a model Mustang. Would my normal acrylics be appropriate for that? I would paint it black SENMM. Now that
would be a challenge!

Pics today Demi!!!! Today!!!!

I to am relieved you have knees I mean how else do you prop up your paint station while painting and driving?

Aye, that would look cool, a plow-ram-bar up front, Reinforced sides for ramming, a pintle-mounted boomstick. Dark Future, Mad Max, Car Wars, Death Race ftw!

Thanks for sharing your stellar paint skills and walking us through another monster paintjob on maagan I'm envious it came out freakin brilliant. Def a putty and paint addition. You know my name johnny "if your my boy I got your back... your front, your sides , above and below ya" standing by for it to pop up where I will cast my votes comment on Cmon and p&p..I'm here when ready.great job bfok.

Word up Johnny. Here is a sneak peak. Just waiting on my main man Demihuman. He helps me out with my pics by organizing them into a roll for me. I'm always like meh these pics are okay but then Demi balances some things out and it looks more like IRL. Sneaker peaker:

Thanks. Agreed with Demi that the pics could be improved. Had to rush the shots and they came out a bit out of focus in spots, and the brightness wasn't optimal. No sense in rushing it.

I've stood by taking my photos outdoors more out of a stubborn obstinacy than any real advantage. I can get perfectly good photos, but I am getting sick of having to take 300 photos to get a good working 4-5 shots. This has made me endeavor to set up a better photo studio. I already own a nice camera, there is no reason why by now I shouldn't have a nice photo box set up with 3 good filtered lights. Besides, it'll give me something new to research and obsess over which is really what drew me to the hobby to begin with.

very nice! :)

as for the photos i know the pain. and basically i have given up on photographing for now. i have a good cam, lightbox and light setup by the book, kickass software latest PS and lightroom. and my photos still suck. kind of hillarious really :)

Yeah, I've got a fancy camera plus a light box setup (albeit a cheap one) and I still take a ton of pictures to find the best 4 or 5 to show. Sometimes it's the focus, other times the color may be off, and even with auto bracketing the exposure may still be incorrect. But, at least with my setup I don't have to wait for the right time of day and its easy enough to go back and tweak things if none of the pictures are good enough.

MassiveVoodoo has some nice tutorials on putting together a photo setup. Colored Dust has one on creating a light box as I recall. And I'm sure there are plenty of other tutorials elsewhere online. When you're looking at different options also consider how long they will take to setup and take down. Mine is about as simple as they come. Just takes a minute or two to turn my painting station into my photo area. When you're posting WIP pictures frequently an easy setup will save you a lot of time.

Thanks fellas!

@ Skel: You have someone else take your photos or something? Because if I recall you're photos always look very nice to me.

@ Bailey: I was wondering where to start so thanks for that. Exactly where I'll go. I guess the main reason I don't use my camera and a light box is that my very expensive computer was stolen about the same time I started painting. So it's not something I've been willing to readily invest in ATM. Work computers are all classified and so can't take external devices :( And without a computer, it really throws a wrench in the whole process. I am quite happy with the result considering it's all been done with the iPhone camera on my apartment balcony. Got me a 9.0 on me last project :)

@ Gandalf: ha! Right? I actually wrote a thread/article on how to stabilize your photos like a sniper, so I should know better. But due to time constraints and the angle of the sun I had to hold the mini up with one hand, and the camera with the other. So one was promised to shake!!! All those energy drinks don't help either :)

Honestly, Maagaan wasn't my favorite project. Mainly because it was so damn time consuming. I still see things on it I need to change last minute. But I took some risks on it. Converted the sword, did some heavy glazing on top of the armor. Went with a freehand of sorts on the cloak. But I am very pleased with the base. And his face came out characterful enough for me, which was a goal. Hey, at the end of the day, happy happy happy. So charged to paint up Goliath from Stephan Simon next...
