BloodFather's Axis of Chaos

Basecoat of VGC Scrofulous Brown mixed with a touch of VMC Smoke. Then add black to this as you move to shadows. Add white for highlights. Glaze purple in shadows.

The Scofulous Brown comes so diluted on its own that I didn't add water/medium to anything.

I am glad to hear you like it Skel, because I am having some confidence issues right now...

like both metals (gold on elf, copper on lizard). The copper will be even better after you finish it and add some oxidation.

Thanks to all, your comments are flattering. My confidence was shaken until I received this feedback.

Not it sure about verdigris. I don't think it is necessary, but then again it might be a nice touch. I think I will do one of two things with verdigris. Either I will #1 be very selective with it and only use a very tiny amount around the rivets here and there. Or #2 I will attempt to do the verdigris in the style pictured below. Anyone have any pics of verdigris done on minis in this manner? Or verdigris done in any style that impressed you?

Yeah, it's definitely looking good! Hmmm... I'm not sure about verdigris in that style, but when it comes to combining rust/verdigris with NMM I think Sproket's thread is a good place to start. Take a look at his Chee-Chee, Abalam, and Gutrot (among others).

I though about using very little verdigris. Only in the deepest grooves and not even there everywhere, just at a few places.

as for inspiration: I like the good ol' Rackham ones. (Tutorial in Cry Havoc 09, even they used very little)

That style on the pic... doesn't look good at all.
