sorry just need to vent hahah. last thrusday (sept 6th) had a bunch of drunken bafoons come into my house on residence at college and put a hole in our wall, now the college wants to charge us for the repairs! told my dad what was going on and he called them up. they told him that it would be free of cost (the repair) however i just got a letter stating that the repair is our problem! im sorry but this is just obsurd! just finished writing up a lil report on the situation and told them what they told my dad. going to be attaching the email to the reports (mine and a house mates) and handing it in... im sorry but this is just rediculous! they tell my dad repairs are free of charge then go and tell me the repairs will be defured if i can give the name of the person who commited the damage. i tried telling them before i cant give an exact name but i can name 1 of the intruders (yes they werent allowed in our house and they just walked in) so wel\'l see how this BS goes. on a lighter note might be getting a new compy screen :D

Just wait until you get out into the real world and you have to put up with these types of buffoons because your job depends on it. Ah, the joys of corporate life.

In a related note to your story, started trash service at my new house. Told \'em I did NOT need any trash cans. So of course, they deliver me one. For $80. Plus $20 delivery charge. Okay, call \'em back and customer service apologizes and credits me back the money. Four weeks pass by, yet no one comes to take the can. I get a bill today for the $20 delivery, plus late fees.

Yes, they\'ll be hearing from me tomorrow. And if they still don\'t want their stupid can, I\'m cutting it up with the chainsaw and putting it into the trash cans. At least that way, they\'ll take it away.

Ummm... Peg...

If you cut it up with a chainsaw, then you\'ll have the $80 bill for the can, $20
for delivery, another $20 for the pick-up,
and then a $98 bill for recycling.

Nope, they\'ve already credited me the $80 back, and I\'m going to pound it into them today to refund the $20 (plus late fees).

And then, since its included in the monthly charge, I just have to throw the whole damn thing in the trash in pieces.

As for their \"recycling\", I\'ve been paying $11 for them to come pick up the recyclable materials. They have yet to actually pick anything recyclable up. Think I may cancel that too.

If it\'s a university owned/managed housing facility and the university insists on charging you for damages caused by someone else, bring it to the local news\' attention (or at least threaten to.) Say that you were intimidated by the drunk & disorderlies and you\'re surprised at the lax security in university run housing.

Security on campus is a big thing right now. You should get some attention.

Right, what you need is a veteran soldier just back from Iraq, a office worker, a lawyer, a shifty looking hotel security guard and a police driver/informer telling you what to do.

And AKs. Lots and lots of AKs.

You\'ll do then. We\'ve already got the wronged student, we just need to wrustle up the rest of the outlaws and then get on the wrong side of a mafia boss.

Lets see how it takes before someone gets the reference

If they are your friends and you invited them over you may be outta luck. If they were uninvited then call the campus police and report vandalism on the buffoons.

Yup, that\'s pretty much what I\'d say. Report them and get security/police involved and you shouldn\'t have to pay. Or take the responsibility for it and pay for the repairs. It\'s pretty simple. So far I can\'t see what \'the Man\' has done wrong here.
