Blow up doll

I have a few comments but somehow the blowup doll is not one of them. Probably what that blowup doll thought when she saw the commentator but that\'s also neither here nor there.

Yes it looks like the classic \"how not to paint eyes,\" only in practice most people who can\'t paint eyes paint them in a very sloppy manner, and the precise way these eyes were poorly painted is in and of itself oddly funny. (In a OMG comic expresion sort of way.) (The fact that there is a similiar problem with \"how not to paint lipstick\" adds to the oddness.)

Actually if the painter learns how to add dark and light areas to the base coats, especially on flesh tones, the score could rise massively.

I did struggle whether or not to allow that comment....

It is a bit harsh. But also rang true, and I think it was meant as constructive.

I think he\'s only trying to cater for the lonely guys on the front line of the 41st millenium. ;) The rest\'s been said.
It\'s harsh but it\'s funny, it\'s funny cuz its true, if it\'s true - its\' something to be aware of next time. Live and learn :]

I was highlighting the comment not the piece, and the comment itself rings true. It does look like a blow up doll in the face but, fair enough, the rest of it ain\'t bad.

So, Shawn, what I\'m saying is read the thread properly before having a dig :moon:

Read the comments, read your initial post and I still say that in total this thread comes off as a mock of someones work. A blowup doll isnt usually something thought of as a thing to aspire to and your bring more attention to a tasteless comment left only magnifys it. Goes back to that old saying - if you dont have something good to say, mabey you shouldnt say it.

Why do you feel a need to pander to people all the time? You lack humour and that\'s really sad. I want you to explain to me why my post is specifically wrong or bad in your eyes when I stated the mini ain\'t bad. I voted higher than the comment maker and made my point in this thread that I see it as being an alright piece of work bar the face. The fact that the fella who left the post got it spot on (it does look like a blow-up doll) and the fact I put the work and comment into the forum does nothing to alter that, and I haven\'t exactly been revelling in the fucking matter.

As I said, read the first post again and THINK about what I wrote. I said it was cruel and I also said it was true that the face looks like a doll. I also said the fella was right in saying the rest of it ain\'t bad. What the hell is wrong with that? YOur lack of consistency on these forums is shocking, with your doe-eyed good boy act one minute and then a self-righteous anger the next. It pisses me off when you direct that side of your personality at me.

Anyone think it was wrong of me to post the thread? Come on, be honest.

If anything, I\'d say the guy who posted the mini got more attention for this mini and more votes (a few of them probably overly generous to compensate for the cruel comment) out of it. I can see no harm in it!

Your comedy does tend towards taking the rise out of others reverend, and you can be a bit sharp, rude etc.
however, even though I do think its unfair on Tears of Hate , as he has got a good style of painting, and is trying and suceeding in progessing, as you said in your opening words, I did piss myself when I looked lol but I do feel a bit guilty for doing it :D
Shawn R. L. has just as much right to air his opinion, in a free democratic world that we ALL live in, as you do, so stop being so spitefull. :moon:
Was it wrong? you will have to ask your god and Tears of Hate that one, as I will not judge you (well maybe a little) :D

Most of us were out of that habbit long ago :D so you should be feeling very guilty :)

I am not going to get involved in the effics of this arguement, (probably have by posting this) if it was really wrong then I am sure one of the Mods would have put an end to this thread by now. Also they would have cut the comment when checking through them.

I agree having seen a fair bit of Tears of Hate\'s work recently this is one of his better ones and he is improving :D always nice to see somebody on the up.

I also have to agree with Krom as well Rev, you can be cutting at times especially if others are not familiar with your sense of humour.

Alass Reverand I will never be able to look at St Celestine again and keep a straight face without think of a blow up doll, probably just as welll as I am getting a bit tired of seeing this model, although I am thinking of getting one so I can destroy it as part of a statue :D lol

I my opinion, any miniature posted to a site where the viewing public gets to make an opinion on your work by voting and/or commenting on it, is therefore open to be dicussed on the forums of this site, whether in a good or bad light.

only thing is this should,I guess, be in the \"discuss submissions\" forum.

I can imagine Reverend spitting his coffee over the screen when he read that though...........lol lol (note; read the comment, not looked at the mini)

See, now I can take any of the criticism I just received because it wasn\'t just a case of what you did is wrong. I appreciate that and I\'m happy to be chided by folk who give at least a half-decent reason. I\'m not inflexible. I just don\'t like the catch-all kind of post old Shawney boy threw at me. I respect my peers, plain and simple. I also respect a lot of other folk, but I want people to justify their barbs.

Cheers lads, I much appreciate what you\'ve said. It\'s nice that the slant of these forums is quite centred and not too left or right. At times the moral crusaders push their case quite verbally (as is their right) but by doing so insinuate a lack of fibre on the parts of others. I see life as a great big laughing and learning process, so I\'ll just bumble along as I always have :D

Edit: Aye, and it should indeed be elsewhere as a thread. My most sincere aplogies lol

Anyone remember that thread in Discuss Submissions on finn\'s first mini? Can\'t remember who posted it, and can\'t be arsed to find it, but boy, did that submission get the piss taken out of it. It might\'ve been a jokeing submission, but still, deservedly ripped apart.

The penalty for posting this thread in General Discussion will be one subscription to a gay dating service. :moon:
