I don\'t know. I mean, the concept itself is very original and creative, and you\'ve pulled it off well enough I suppose, but it lacks that, er, well I don\'t like the look of the, um, the uh, well the overall feel is kinda, uh...

It\'s the best mini I\'ve seen in a long time, it\'s just so cool, but one thing I think\'s weird are the fishes, look a bit odd. Still not too bad
Couldn\'t give it any less than 10, since I think this is better than the maiden. Whoo..I\'ve looked at this mini a lot now...
...I get to see it again everytime someone posts a comment...and the comments have been coming thick and fast
Whilst not detracting from the mini, I still think it\'s a solid 10, I am beginning to feel that the base is a bit too much. It\'s a bit like I feel when I see a truly beautiful woman who is wearing too much make-up. It somehow begins to detract from the overall impression. I think my biggest concern is with the lilly pads and blue flowery thing. Although good per se they seem a little crude in comparison with the figure itself. I am not too sure about the thing she is standing on either. As someone said above, or in the comments, perhaps it would look better if she was actually standing on a lilly pad.

Finn, I think you\'re right actually, the lilies and lotus and rock were all my attempts at sculpting, and they did not end up well compaired to the rest. And put next to Werner\'s sculpting ability in this scene they really stand out as crudely done I feel.
I\'m thinking I may repost her just on a simple base, so that perhaps she can get a ranking based on just the paint job on the mini itself.
I do seem to be able to attract 8 from top painters though, but I took AllanC\'s as a challenge to improve and used his comments as a motivation to work on my blending and post a lighter figure, and I think I will use Cyrils to refign my technique and hopefully improve my next try.
I really am not trying to claim to be a pro at the reflection thing, heck I\'ve only done it twice and to me feels very stiff, and could use a lot more to really make it come alive, in time I am hoping to really get the feel for adding ripples, and other details. The fish were definately an experiement this time, trying to add something under the water, and I\'m not sure they come off as very 3d. (I actually have no 2d painting training so I\'m really learning as I go).

I really love this mini, but there is nothing on this Earth that can\'t be improved upon.
However, as you are aware, you can never win A simpler base would have attracted comments about how reflections would have made things even better etc.
Anyway, at your level of achievement it is largely academic whether or not you have overgilded the lilly (pardon the pun).

Eric, I\'m a little late to this thread, but it\'s obviously another masterpiece from you. The dragyri that is, not the thread lol I think everything has been said already, and I agree with it. The only thing is that even though this piece is better technically than the Maiden, she is still my number one becuse of the dark mood. With that said, Blue Lotus is another 10 from me to you
As I commented, you could add a thin layer of water effects resin and ripple it slightly. You\'d run the risk of ruining the base, but if you were going to re-do the base anyway, who cares?
That way you could have 3 types of base, original reflection, reflection with rippled resin layer and simple base, and cover all your bases (sorry for the pun). Then you can have 3 pics and they can all duke it out for which one is best
I still want to see a proper pic of the base, because it looks perfect, you know like a professional artists painting, if I saw that pic in a fantasy art mag I wouldn\'t be surprised.
