i love that model... however i hate the fact that the 1 blade is on backwards... kind of runes it for me... other then that i love it tho

What an incredible peice of art. While yes the blade\'s look like they go in different directions, it would in know way hamper my score. This is incredible and I bow in awe of his skill.

Thanks for sharing this link with us Dammekkos2. Yeah I think that this could be a 9.9 although I would give it a 10.

9.9? i guess it wont even be a 9.5 :(
its a very good model and of course worthy of the demon
but for example the silver nmm doenst work for me it looks like plain grey with some light reflections and i recon this will pull the score down significantly :)
of course its still a 10 for me because everything else is just flawless

That spanks a serious amount of arse!
I have no problem with the blades going in opposite directions. It\'d make a right mess of anyone getting hit by both at once!!

I think he\'s mastered red and gold. Time for something else now??:D

I think the steel (not silver) NMM is impecable.
The fact that the blades go opposite directions doesn\'t bother me, as I can see times it would be helpful to have a blade with a backward spin.
The only prob I have is the thing is so top-heavy that while the pose is very dynamic, I think it would fall over if it ever leaned that much.

Of course, I\'d give a lot to be able to replicate the shine on that shin.

Yeh theres a couple of niggles that only a figure this well done brings out.
The steel is good and the blade shine is excellent.Well its all excellent really.

Like Scott said.....someone buy the guy some different colours:D

Got to pick on him somewhere;)

Red again!?!

Hey gang, I see I was beaten to the forums (darn sleep requirements).

A 9.9? I thank you for your confidence but I doubt that. Especially with snipers around. We\'ll see how it settles after a few days.

Yes another Khorne model. Go easy on my guys, remember, I am one of those who PLAYS with painted miniatures . I have to finish that army! That\' why it\'s the same color scheme and a matching base to Magmatrax\'s.

Gold and Red I really think I got down. I tried a slightly different approach on my Gold and I think this is much better. The Red Sheen on the armor is also something I think I have achieved well enough to move on to different techniques.

Steel I\'m very proud of, I wanted a more muted backside, since the steel serves more practical functions than ornemental functions like the gold. I wanted the blades and a few more polished steel features to contrast a little also. I\'m surprised at people\'s reaction towards the Steel, that\'s what I\'m most proud of (mainly because I couldn\'t paint steel to save my life before this project).

Though I will make more Khorne from time to time, My basic batallion is complete, so I am in negotiations with Tzeench and Nurgle for the next projects. Both have made interesting offers so I might strike a pack with \'em both :p I will also try different styles, going into the darker, grittier feel, though I\'m afraid my personnal preference will drag me back to the clean-cut fantasy look...

*** EDIT: Almost forgot, the blades. I felt that the counter-rotative pattern was better suited to flesh and steel rending :D.

Actually, around the center of the blades were small inscripotions engraved, and I was afraid those would show through the paint. So I hid the the remainder of the inscriptions on both blades under the chain mechanism (part of the inscription was already hidden undet the wheel \"hubcaps\" acting as blade core support. ***

It\'s shit hot, and I like it a lot. :D

Just want to see what you can do with a different theme now. You could always build one with a pair of Slayer Swords for hands;)

backwards blade??

man that is picky!!

I can\'t believe someone even spotted it to start with....

Maybe he is planning on cutting some laminate flooring when he is done with his murdeous rampaging.

(laminate flooring cuts \'cleaner\' when you have the blade on backwards)lol

Beauty. If I actually still played and my opponent put that down on the table, I think I couldn\'t actually game because I\'d just be too distracted!

\"...armor save...who...what...where? I was looking at the dreadnought. Holy crap, where\'d that squad of berserkers come from? What? They were moving along the edge of the board while I was mindlessly drooling?\"

ok, this really is outstanding work.

HOWEVER, the real question is how you\'ve managed to get together an army like this when each piece takes 200 hours! mind boggling.

Glad to see your painting evolution, can\'t wait to see what\'s next

Absolutely awesome work! For me it\'s not the painting but the dynamism of the model that really sets it apart from any other Dread I\'ve seen.

Don\'t get me wrong, its a wonderful paint job and rather scarily you\'ve improved over the job you did on Magmatrax, but the fact that the charge looks so vicious is what’s made me fall in love. Magmatrax was (despite being uber cool) rather too static for my tastes, but this is spot on.

I love the details on the underside of the feet and the subtle Khorne symbol rendered in the lava design on top of the Dread is a fantastic touch. The choppy discs are painted to perfection too.

Fingers crossed for another tutorial although I don\'t really have 200 hours to spare right now!

I thought the same thing. What a pointless criticism lol

Lets get picky.....

I don\'t think one blade is on backwards.

With circular saws their is no such thing as \'backwards\' as it depends upon the direction of rotation.

If both blades were rotating in the same direction they would generate a huge amount of inertial torque and as each force generates an equal and opposite force our fella here would be fighting a large amount of energy that would be encouraging him to indulge in either forward of backward somersaults, depending upon the direction of rotation of the blades. (Anyone who has \'blipped the throttle\' on a large shaft-drive motorbike will know exactly what I am talking about)

Now any sensible dreadnought who had paid attention at school, and who wanted to wield both left and right circular saws as melee weapons would elect to have them rotating in different directions so that the rotational inertia from one weapon would cancel out the rotational inertia from the other.

Besides, I don\'t really believe Silphid is capable of making a mistake:D
