Bonsai Trees

Thought recently about trees on bases. Came to the conclusion that parts of bonsai trees would probably do best. They have a nice twisted look to them.

But it that got me thinking. They make miniature bonsai trees. Perhaps I could build a base with a drain hole inside of it, and I could keep a living miniature base. I'd just need to give it water to keep it healthy. Has anyone of heard or done something similar to this?

Have thought about it but skipped the idea because I`m terrible with keeping anything green alive for more than two month :p Bonsais are hard to maintain and might need artificial sunlight if kept indoors.

Here is a Hobbit Diorama with Bonsai:

You would have to be carefull not to use anything on the base that ist dissolvable or can gather mould. Easiest solution would probably be just glueing the painted mini to a stone and to put that beneath a allready diorama-like Bonsai-tree Ensemble.

Be sure to post pics when you do it!

Ahh yes I saw this one. I didn't count it though cuz there's no actual minis on it. So I considered it more like fairy garden art-which is also really cool and I also want to merge that art form with our art form, but lacks an actual miniature. I've read some ways to preserve green scenery, so this is worth looking into and applying to bases as well.

No plans in the immediate future to do this, but I will eventually.
